A friend of mine is a pilot...I'm trying to get him to fly in to our rally next weekend.

Thanks for the info. We won't be able to make it, though.

Sounds very cool. I'm not sure a trip to California next summer is in the cards for us, though.

Sounds like it may be a tad bit warm this coming week. Is there anything scheduled for the rally or we on our own for the weekend? We're good either way, Kimjust wondered about pot luck dinner packing.

Ditto. Although I doubt if the runway could accomodate what he usually flies, courtesy of Mr. Boeing.

Hi Larry,
No real scheduled events. Looks like a couple of potlucks, and the fly-in, but that's voluntary. Here's the info from the registration form:

Friday: On your own. Explore the local towns for antiques, and good, small eateries. Potluck dinner at 6pm.

Saturday: Weather permitting, planes start arriving anywhere from 10am on. The pilots have a pot luck lunch. If you contribute a dish you can join in. Planes fly by, take off and land throughout the afternoon. Remember your camera. Potluck dinner at 6pm.

Sunday: Departure.

They didn't mention happy hours. But with WDCU, they're pretty much any time. It's been warm for the past two years, but there's some 30 AMP available this year. The camping area is next to the runway, at the end of the hangar. We've had a great time for the past couple of years. Hope to see you and Kim there.

He's not an airline pilot - he does it for recreation.

If we can afford the fuel, we'll try to make a low pass...

Pictures here!

For those that weren't there, they gave a couple people rides in the planes, so I took my camera along and took some aerial shots of the rally. Then I tried my hand at flying for a bit.

THis is a little late in coming, but thanks to everyone for an AWESOME rally. Art, you do have a bit of heaven on the Eastern Shore! Thank you for sharing it!

Here's a little blog post about it from my side...Sky High Rally | Tales of the Toaster

BTW--I love those photos--there's a whole lot of magic to capture and they came out great!
