If you fabricate wings for the AS can you tow it with the Cessna? Like a banner?

Problem solved!

Anyone else getting excited for this?

I discovered last night that our trailer has a flat tire (sigh) but the plan is to just use the spare if we have to (if I can't get it repaired/replaced before then) - we do not think this will impact any Airstreaming.

The Out among the Stars Bluegrass Festival is on the weekend before July fourth. It has a grass airfield RIGHT next to it. Some pilots have been
tent camping underneath their wings. so if you like to fly and are looking for a destination ( Benton Pennsylvania ) here is a flyer ( pun intended )

Airplanes and Airstreams in California

Well, apparently the Video is really important..

As leader of Rally of 1 to 2012 Golden West Flyin/Airshow north of Sacramento last weekend, I am going to work on enhanced PR for the 2013 edition, tentatively scheduled for the second weekend in June.. This was one of the 6 or 7 major EAA linked Regional Fly-Ins, but has fallen on hard times due to weather and underwhelming promotion over past couple years...

For Airstreams, you can be 25' from active taxiway (FAA Minimum due to Air Show Security/Protection) with 30A electrical hookups (12 hours/day to charge batteries and run A/C in afternoons), but no water or sewer. Dry camp sites without power are $10/night.. Breakfasts and Dinners served each day, and showers set up in single-wide unit for tent campers and plane campers... Military showed up with FA-18 and nearby Beale AFB sent a U-2 over for low pass and max performance climb.. B-17 from Phoenix there all weekend, offering rides and tours... Pictures show FA-18 taxiing past open door of Airstream, and landing with Airstream and awning in foreground...

Thanks for the info. We won't be able to make it, though.

Sounds very cool. I'm not sure a trip to California next summer is in the cards for us, though.

Sounds like it may be a tad bit warm this coming week. Is there anything scheduled for the rally or we on our own for the weekend? We're good either way, Kimjust wondered about pot luck dinner packing.

Ditto. Although I doubt if the runway could accomodate what he usually flies, courtesy of Mr. Boeing.

Hi Larry,
No real scheduled events. Looks like a couple of potlucks, and the fly-in, but that's voluntary. Here's the info from the registration form:

Friday: On your own. Explore the local towns for antiques, and good, small eateries. Potluck dinner at 6pm.

Saturday: Weather permitting, planes start arriving anywhere from 10am on. The pilots have a pot luck lunch. If you contribute a dish you can join in. Planes fly by, take off and land throughout the afternoon. Remember your camera. Potluck dinner at 6pm.

Sunday: Departure.

They didn't mention happy hours. But with WDCU, they're pretty much any time. It's been warm for the past two years, but there's some 30 AMP available this year. The camping area is next to the runway, at the end of the hangar. We've had a great time for the past couple of years. Hope to see you and Kim there.

He's not an airline pilot - he does it for recreation.

If we can afford the fuel, we'll try to make a low pass...
