Hey!... it think we passed your caravan on our way out. Somewhere just North of Ellsworth on route 1A. There were five of you I think....maybe four.

We were in a black Excursion with two canoes on the roof towing a 25' SS International. It was nice to see a few Airstreams. You just don't see to many on the road. On the whole first half of our trip from Virginia to Maine we didn't see a single one on the road. Saw a couple on the way back other than yours though.

Funny I never saw this thread...I haven't been reading this forum too much lately. We were planning on going to Acadia this week but the 35' sites where all booked....now I see why. Anyway we moved it back a week. Sorry we missed you guys.

Hope you have good Weather. We were there for three days and it was pretty foggy and wet for most of the time...not too much rain but you couldnt see much.

Getting a bit off topic here but we spent the three prior nights in the North Maine Woods. Very COOL up there. We had to drive about 50 miles of off the grid gravel roads but we got an entire lake to ourselves....not another soul on it. The roads where private and gravel but well maintained. We got to park the Airstream about 20 feet from a beautiful natural lake...and I could run the generator whenever I wanted. We saw a couple of moose up there also.

Anyway just some food for thought for anyone who is looking to get out off the beaten path.

Here are a few of pics if anyone is interested. The first two where taken about thirty feet from the camper at the edge of the lake and the third was taken from same spot looking back up at the Airstream.

We've had a really wet spring and summer on the East so far....so things are even greener than usual. They told me that it had been raining almost every day for the last month up there.

We had a great time at Acadia! Thanks to Gail and Titu for arranging!

THere was a wonderful classical music concert in the park on Wednesday night . THe weather was very nice most days with no air condiitioning needed and only blankets at night. The park has been upgraded with nice toilets, running water and dishwashing stations.

We met lots of new Airstreamers and look forward to camping with our new friends again soon. We camped at Cabellas on the way back home.

We had a seafood pot luck one night and breakfast one morning cooked by the Ahmed's and William's and blueberry muffins by Paulette another AM.

The island is a wonderful place to camp and I look forward to many more years of camping there.

It was a perfect week!

The natural beauty of this park is breath taking!

Hi mountainboy.........that was our New England Unit heading up to Blackwoods Campground. We had a great turnout of 18 rigs in attendance. Wish you could have joined us! The weather held out well for the week.

Acadia

We just returned from our extended stay at Blackwoods. The Airstreams disappeared into the fog and rain like the ships off the coast. We managed to get in another hike and a few more pop overs before heading south along the coast.
We stopped along the way in Belfast for a walking tour of the old downtown and on to an overnight at Camden Hills State Park. On Tuesday we toured the Farnsworth Museum. The Jamie Wyeth show "Seven Deadly Sins" was great. Robert Indiana show was interesting.

How about some photos? More to follow later. Have to stake up the tomatos first.
Nice to meet some new Airstreamers. Thanks to our fearless sponsors for the inspiration last winter to sign up for this trip.

Hi Jeffg24........I don't think anyone in our group went on either one of these adventures. Several folks in our group hiked Cadillac Mountain, which was 11 miles round trip from the campground.

It's a beautiful Island with plenty to do. Many day trips with tour guides. Our favorite was the Carriage Roads for bike riding.

Have fun!
