A thought

There is hope
in the words of someone

The only constant
is change itself.

Its time
that seems to
have one
foot in the mud

Here is a good location for many different Pirate flags.

Too true! My trip covered 5,275 miles in 22 days (not a record to be proud of, just one to survive).

I did swing past the International for a few hours and got out before the parking committee escorted me--Yes! Photos in a separate thread, tonight.

Thanks, 2air. Wonderful thread, as usual.

Fabulous Summary!

2Air;

Thanks so much for finding and sharing the humor that was beneath the surface in Salem! Thanks goodness Protocol was made to be tested....

We lived in Blue (dogless) rear hayfield near the Rich's, and would have proudly (and happily ) worn the beret... Many of us (including us First Timers) will "Pass on Perry.." due to distance and climate... We had to leave Sunday AM and missed side trip, but it sounded like genuine Forum Rally... Perhaps we need to convene the International Committee on Rules of the Forum and see if we can create the "Rules of Forum Rallying" on half of a 3x5 card....

Great Story Line

2Air

This was some fun reading. In my first 6 months of this forums and AS owning it is reading like this that keeps me into my Caravel. Thanks Again.

hi ralph, welcome to the forums! and hello to you others who read and post here....

as az has noted,
there are good online sources for flags.....
i purchased mine locally,
but wouldn't hesitate to shop on line for the right one.
many pirates had personalized flags....
however, some of the ones in this link aren't real.....
but modern versions.....like
"the beatings will continue, until moral improves".....

i favor the simple skull and crossed bones now.....
but edward teach's flag was cool and scary....in the 18th century...
that's black beard the pirate....

a brief bit of history on pirates and flags.....
at least the history i favor...

many pirates were of spanish or french origins,
and flew the 'home country' flag until close enough for the attack....
(i did this at the rally too....flyiing the flag of the 34th state)
when ready to attack,
they would hoist either the black flag or the red flag.....
which is though to be the origin of the name.......jolly roger
a close approximation of joli rouge....

anyway the red flag was far more ominous...
since it meant......'take no prisioners'.....
in other words......kill 'em all!
while the black flag meant......'standard battle' or
take prisioners of any survivors.....

so why is the black flag now know,
as the most notorius pirate flag?
well that's easy.....
no one survived to tell tales about the red flag!

cheers
2air'

yes the forums rallys need a flag.....
but not any one flag.....
our rally's should be open to all flags.....
well almost all flags...

certainly nothing that needs jackson center approval first......

cheers
2air'

Down the Rabbit-Hole . . .

to Silver Falls . . . then stepped thru the looking glass and what did we find? The white rabbit unmasked – he’s really the mad hatter in disguise!

2air – it was a pleasure meeting you and putting a face to the ellipsis . . . rabbit . . . rbcci mad hatter . . .

Actually, I believe it was something in the air, a heat wave precisely.

There is nothing like being in a trailer that exceeds your thermometer of 100 degrees in the 3 amp section and driving, driving, driving, and living on the road for weeks dry camping that can cause an over riding discontent with cool styling and send you running for cover!

It may not be Thursday, but I love my new Airstream because the headliner and mouse fur helps insulate a good 10-15 degrees more than bare aluminum walls and keep out road noise, the windows have full blocking coverings in layers, window awnings shield from the sun's rays, the air conditioner has more BTUs, there is a second fantastic vent, there is no dusting of the walls, ceiling and blinds to do. And do not be misled, size does matter. There is nothing like field testing a unit under extreme conditions to get an accelerated idea of whether it is working out for you or not. It just does not pay to keep something that you are unhappy with. I even bet you would change your oil more often if there seemed to be a problem.

2air, it was a pleasure meeting you. This thread and pictures are too cool! I think you should bind these up in a book.

Okay now, this picture is for all the ribbing I have been receiving from all of my friends. I just had to go with it.

Pictures of the 2007 27' Classic FB here:
http://www.airforums.com/photo...ges.php?c=3215

(Just so you know, I had asked several dealers if a classic FB would be built and dealer even called AS to see if I could get regular interior and was told no, 2 days after I received my ordered AS I found out there would be a Classic. So it was not entirely illogical that I would still want to have what I tried to order in the first place.)

hi carol

great to read your post.....it's been awhile.

it may have been the air or heat or dust,
but i think it was the beret......
that's my story and i'm stick'n to it!
of course fine hickory, great counters, full opening windows,
and real live-in space.....
might have been an influence too....

regardless,
that is one SWEET trailer!!
i'm a fan of the classics when they are done this nice....
besides that safari was really meant for the couple who purchased it...
you were just transporting it to salem for them!

anyone wanting to see some fine pix should run through yours,
i just did and they are great....
the puppy is grow'n
the zip dee folks did their part with the additonal awning...
and you got chair extensions?
man i want some of those too!

only one problem 4 me,
the door is at the wrong end.....
i might not be able to find it,
after a little vino, or a lot

the pleasure of meeting was all mine,
and 'our trip to the international in salem oregon'
was clearly worth it.....
look at the beautiful new trailer!
the great people we met.....
and all of the fine new members of the rbcci.....

hope to see ya camping again soon.....

best regards
2air'

ahem, I have a "friend" who doesn't follow the threads as assiduously as I do, and she asked me to get the official name of the rbcci--she didn't believe me when I told her it was the "rabbit boys caravan club international." She thinks it's the "rebel beck caravan club international."

She even said it would be a great favor if someone pointed out the thread where all this started, how to join, what dues, and especially what the rules are--like, do you have to have dreads or can you fake it? Do you have to wear something when you're in a hot tub? Is there a special required fabric for pirates flags? And was it no drinking after 10 or no generators? That kind of stuff.

Silly me; I thought it meant Rastafarian Beret Caravan Club International...
