9th Texas Vintage Airstream Round-Up- 2015

The 9th Texas Vintage Airstream Round-Up Rally Will Be April 30-May 4, 2015

Texas Highland Lakes Unit (THLU) of WBCCI is sponsoring the 9th Texas Vintage Airstream Round-Up National Rally, April 30-May 4, 2015 at Coushatte Recreation Ranch outside Bellville, TX. Bellville is some 65 miles west of Houston. Full hook-ups on grass with trees are provided in a ranch environment away from cities, freeways, and major highways.

Membership in WBCCI or VAC is NOT required; even though this is a WBCCI National Rally---the only requirement is that attendees bring some type of an Airstream product----any year of manufacture.

At our 8th Rally in October 2013, there were 1948 to 2014 model Airstreams. We had 96 Airstreams of which nearly 40% were Vintage. We should have some 2015 models attending this year.

This Rally Includes seminars on vintage topics as well as topics of interest to others. Some of the seminars in the past have dealt with: solar panels & installation, frame off restoration, axles & brakes, electrical & batteries, plumbing including holding tanks, cleaning holding tanks, flooring, refrigerator repair and alternatives, air conditioner & heating alternatives, LED lighting, riveting, polishing, custom cabinets, window replacement, general and basic maintenance, insurance, portable generators/inverters, container gardening, cooking in an Airstream, using a convection oven, Dutch-oven cooking, places to camp & visit, caravaning, dry camping, towing for women, Yoga, and full-timing in an Airstream.

There will be panel discussions, camp fires (if not in a burn ban), door prizes, entertainment, happy hours with beer, seven (7) catered meals, one (1) potluck dinner, a swap meet, and an open house for Airstreams.

The Rally Cost is: $100 ($84 for 7 catered meals + $16 for rally activities) per person with children under age 15 free. The parking cost is $25 per night. Most of the activities are held on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. The large number of catered meals is due to the distance between the rally and restaurants.

Pre-shrunk, adult sized Rally Shirts will be available for order at a cost of $16 for sizes S-XL and $18 for sizes 2XL & 3XL.

Help us round-up all Airstreams. Head down to Texas for: good food, good times, good friendships, and good Texas hospitality, April 30-May 4, 2015!

Registration form and information may be found at the
THLU website: Texas Highland Lakes Unit ; or contact Jean Beebe at: tj-beebe@hotmail.com or 512/745-4201 (Cell). Direct any specific questions about the Rally to: Harvey Craig at: eharv@msn.com or 512/633-0380 (Cell).

Registration form & fees are due PRIOR to April 16, 2015.

The above post is an edited version of the press release that went to the Blue Beret and will go to the newspapers in the area of the rally.

My take ... I have attended a number of rallies at Coushetta and it is a really nice place for a big rally. The meeting rooms are good and the meals they serve are really good. The place is definitely out in the country, so the seven catered meals will save a lot of driving. When I have been there before, the park owner has been out every morning with a gas grille, cooking to-order breakfasts for all who want them at a good price.

Good Choice for the Rally location. I have been there for many rallies and have enjoyed the hospitality.

It will have to be 2017. We only have the vintage rallies on odd years.

Is there a limited number of spaces? We plan on making it but won't know if we can until Monday before because of work. What is the latest we can sign up?
