The issue with the rail wasnt so much the availability but the possibility of getting here in one unbent length. My history with big brown isnt that great.

Thankfully Lewster offered to deliver one to the rally for me.

If anyone else needs awning rail, I have 8-20' pieces in my storage area and will be glad to cut it to any length you need and bring it to the rally.

I just installed an awning rail with 20 Olympic rivets. Is there anyone that's attending the FCU Resto-rally that has a "rivet shaver" that I could borrow? Maybe we could strike a deal with some swap meet items I'm bringing.

I got extended by one day on the research mission I'm on so I will not get back to Colorado until next Tuesday night. I still plan on being in ABQ Thursday though.

Looks like there will be several rivet shavers at the rally. However, if you’re coming down I-15 through Parowan before the 6th of June, you're welcome to stop in and we can shave them here before you leave the Utah.

Anyone there that can comment on the current air quality in Alburqueque due to the fires? I just heard a news report that the fire is expected to double before they control it!

Right now it is not very good. That could always change in a week.

I don't know - looking out my window it looks pretty good to me - just depends on the way the wind blows - last year we had the huge fires in Arizona, and we were fine - these fires are further south

Thanks Zep, Levon, and Spike for the shaver offer. I think Jim had a good idea, we could do a little mini-demo on shaving rivets for those (myself included) who have never done it. I've even left the stubble (mandrels) sticking up because as I understand it, there's even a technique to snipping those aluminum hairs off.

No alerts currently in the forecast. In fact the AQI is much better in Albuquerque then it is here in Phoenix! We need to get out of here, hitting the road in 5 days.
