OR 090 4th of July at Airport Park, Vernonia, Oregon

Old-Fashioned Camping at the Airport Park. I've again reserved the group area at the Airport Park. This is a no service park, just a hand pump for water down the road and a outhouse just in case. We all had a great time last year and this year I'm planning to add games of skill and Bingo just for fun. I'm thinking All-American fare or dutch oven cooking for the food. Any Ideas? The cost will be $10.00 a nite or less if we have over 10 rigs.

Vernonia, as everyone who knows me, is my favorite place to camp, Golf course, bike and hiking trails, fishing lake, old swimming hole, good grocery store, and a fun downtown. Vernonia has a 4th of July parade and fair for us to enjoy.

Just wanted to post a few pictures of the park so those that have not been to the campground can see that it is not just a runway

We have 3 trailers so far and can fit 10 into the site. JD is in charge of pie's.

I'm bumping this thread in case anyone is looking for a place to spend the 4th in NW Oregon. A weekend spent relaxing by the creek. priceless, Well only about $10 a night if we get a few more trailers. Be warned, I'll be working on my Dutch Oven cooking skills this weekend

Teresa - Steve and I really wish we could join you on the 4th. We are hard at work down sizing. We have put our house up for sale and are planning to go full timing in our Airstream. This has been a dream of ours for some time and are so looking forward to it.

We will be with you in spirit and some time down the road we will be joining in rallies in person. Hope you all have a great time on the 4th.

Good luck on you house sale. Down sizing is never easy , what to keep, do I really need that. Living in our trailer 5 months a year makes you realize what you don't need. You have a lot of space in your trailer and you have made good use of the space with your add-ons. Have fun and see you down the road. We're planning a relaxing weekend, I hear that Vernonia is going to have fire-work so may plan on that.
