4CU Thanksgiving Rally 2014
For this year's Thanksgiving feast I have reserved the Raccoon Group Campground at Lake Pleasant. We've camped there before and it is always a good time. Nice big ramada, fire pit, restrooms and enough room for 30 trailers. $15 a night per trailer plus a $5 per person rally fee.

Hi all - The City of Rocks rally was so very well organized with dates and times when he 4CU Group planned to congregate. Is there as similar itinerary for the rally at Lake Pleasant in Nov (and if so, will someone send to us)?
Last year, at Thanksgiving, Bob and I were a bit caught off guard with the timing of rally events. It was no big deal - but we were wondering where the rally information was available (since we missed it).
We love 4CU and the rallies, and look forward to seeing you all in November. !!!

RC & MK, If you go to the top of the Airforums page, under RALLIES there is the selection of "List Rallies by Date". Click on that and then under the 4CU Thanksgiving Rally and it will take you to the information and sign-up page. There you can find the dates and camping information. Hope to see you at Lake Pleasant!

Please excuse me for not being as organized as other hosts and hostess. I have been traveling in my Airstream and doing my best.
I literally just arrived home and will have a schedule posted and sent out tonight.

Wednesday ~ Arrivals~ come set up, say hello to friends. Happy Hour at 5 in the Ramada followed by potluck at 6, please bring nibblets and noches to your liking.
The firepit will be sparked up every night at dusk. Firewood contributions would be welcome throughout the weekend.
Thursday~ Thanksgiving Day ~ Morning coffee and assorted goodies. Day spent as you please. Hang around camp enjoying the company of good people, kayaking and other lake fun. One o'clock we will begin frying turkeys. Please bring a side dish or dessert for the feast at 2:00 in the Ramada and your drink of choice of course. There are electrical outlets for crockpots in the ramada. As is Thanksgiving tradition I assume there will be a whole lot of sitting, chatting and or possible napping post bird. If you would like to bring a fun group game, we love that sort of activity. We may even be screening movies after dark around the campfire. Possibilities are Christmas Vacation and RV, good for a full belly laugh. Not a definite on the "schedule".
Friday~ Morning coffee and assorted goodies. Again, please spend the day as you please. A few people have mentioned some time at Ben Avery Shooting Range. I will lead a kayak excursion around the lake. What ever suits your fancy to burn the bird!
Happy Hour at 5 followed by FRY NIGHT at 6. Bring what you like to fry...tempura, meats, shellfish, veggies. Think wicked big fondue party. Fire, friends, fun.
Saturday~ Morning coffee and assorted goodies. Usual happenings. Happy Hour at 5, Potluck at 6. Fire, friends, fun. Rumor has it some talented musicians may be joining us.
Sunday~ Same as Saturday. With exception of packing up all the fun and saying adios, farewell and so long. Some people have mentioned staying Sunday night. I will check with Ranger Dave but I do not see an issue with that. In the past when we have stayed at Lake Pleasant some folks have enjoyed going to popular restaurant off Hwy 74 on Sunday evenings. That is always an option for those who choose to stay.

For those who are interested in staying Sunday night at the lake there is a ten trailer minimum to stay in the group that evening. If that is something that interested you, please send me an email and let me know. We can discuss it more at the rally also.

Thank you Terry for those helpful suggestions!
We will have plenty of turkey, some fried, some cooked in a wonderful new gadget that fries without oil thanks to Louis & Sergio, and smoked turkey.

Yes, we did a trial run with our new gadget, cooks beautifully! Cant wait to try it out on a full size bird.
Sounds like a canoe/kayak race will be in order after all of this food.
