I was told that a better route would be I-17 to Route 69 toward Prescott, thence Fain Road just north of Dewey, thence Route 89 westerly past the airport where it turns northerly all the way to I-40, and lastly eastbound on I-40 to Williams.

What do you all think? Is this a preferable way to go? Thanks in advance.
Hey! You went to Rich Charpentier's Prescott Photo Walk! How was it? You know he's an Airstreamer, right? ("gadgetat" here)... We have driven that route (to visit Rich) up until the part where you head north on 89 to go to I-40, but I'm sure it's an OK drive...the Fain road cut-off to Alt 89 is well marked on 69. When we were there (end of May 08) there was some road construction on the west end of Alt 89 where it connects with 89, and there was very little signage to guide us...we got lost, of course...hopefully the construction is done and the signs are now up.

See you in Williams!

Mike - We went through Flagstaff on I-17 both ways two weeks ago when we traveled to the RMVAC in Colorado. There was very little construction and it did not slow us down much at all. The road from Prescott to Ash Fork is fine, but single lane each direction. The Prescott route will take you a bit longer, but both routes are fine.

C U in Williams...

Yo, TB & Greg,

Yes, I've known Rich for nearly 2 years but this is the first time we met in person. The Photo Walk was exceptional in that the creativity exhibited by the participants humbled me and inspired me to try and become better. All 50 of us walked the same 5-7 blocks, but when you look at the collection of pictures, you can't help but marvel at how many different ways there are to view the same subjects or for people to see entirely different things. There is no way that I would ever believe witnesses to crimes who are confident in what they have seen. No two people see exactly the same incident in exactly the same way.

Take a look at the flickr albums at http://www.flickr.com/groups/scott-k...prescott/pool/

Wow! You're right...you'd hardly think the shots were all taken on the same walk if you didn't know! Wonderful! I better sharpen my skills with our little Canon point n' shoot.

Just got home from Costco, got the happy hour stuff. I'll give you a hint. It goes in a round ball with a pump on the top and has Jose on the bottle...

Weather forecast...

I just checked the weather forecast on weatherunderground.com and see that the daytime temps are expected to be in the high 70s and nighttime lows are expected to be in the mid 40s.

The best part of the forecast for me is the possibility of thunderstorms each day. The clouds and lightning should make for some dramatic photos around Williams and the Grand Canyon.

I've been hoping for dramatic weather around home here in Goodyear, but we seem to be in a cloudless pocket on the west side of Phoenix. Off in the distance I see plenty of clouds in every direction but apparent the hills/mountains keep them all from getting close. Bummer. I like real weather.

Damn! We rather enjoy visiting with Min.

Let her know that if she comes she won't have to cook.
