I think my wife and I will attend one of the days and meet some folks and check out other Airstreams, but I guess I just don't get the attraction to parking in an open field on top of each other, even if it is with hundreds of other airstreamers.

I've never attended a rally, and I thought this MAY be one I wanted to bring the trailer to and start, but I think we'll pass and shoot for the Canopener or next Disney rally where there's a little more space/privacy, and a little more to do on the grounds.

Maybe when we visit this year, it'll all click and I'll understand and join the WBCCI and attend every other rally.

This is our 2nd time to the FL State rally. We are not WBCCI members. Depending on where they put us, hopefully with the closest unit to our zip code, and possibly will meet some really fun people and rejoin the WBCCI. If not, make some friends with AIR people and have a great time. Will be traveling tomorrow to arrive mid afternoon. See some of you then?

uh, no, we brew sun tea though. Yeah I have a coffee maker too. Hey if we get them both going we can have the whole place with lights dimming like a prison movie - vive la cafe!!

Just kidding. I plan on using my charger and inverter at this point. It will probably be enough. The charger will take less power and still keep the batteries happy.

There is a twitter post at wbcci.org stating that the good folks at Alumaevents will be taking over the organization of the WBCCI - FL State Rally for 2014. Rumor has them calling it Alumaflamingo.

All of a sudden I have an urge to attend this event next year.

We are camped in a field with 300 other Airstreams and are enjoying it. having been on 8 caravans it is great to visit with the people we haved traveled far with. so far as I can tell there are no unhappy people here. The attraction of WBCCI for us is the people and the caravans

Why would anyone at a Rally be unhappy? Especially the organizers who have handed the reigns over to the pros who do this sort of rally event planning for a living. With that being said, Rich Luhr and his org will breathe life into the FL State Rally next year with a refreshing approach to events, seminars, food, entertainment, etc.

My guess is FL Rally will be a test for them organizing International in the future. I was at Sedalia last summer as a delegate. There was not one scheduled evening event that interested us. With that being said we plan on traveling to Huron. As you state - seeing and socializing with old friends and making new ones is the draw for us.

Hi Bill, I look forward to connecting in SD. Not sure where we are parking yet. Because of work we will not be pulling in with our Unit. You know how it goes - whether or not they can save spots for us near by will be a crap-shoot.

If any one is attending "know your axles" at 8 am Sat, could you please ask the dexter rep about the use of shocks on their axles?

I am standing here and the rep said most as are built with shocks
It is not required and would take some altercation to add to apps that do not have them already

Thank you! We just left the rally, thanks to everyone at the Vintage side for letting us check out your AS, and being so understanding as our kids ran around!
