Thanks Mike for the photos. I'm with Brad, totally bummed at not being able to go this year. Steve, I know the feeling about having to motel it. Last year, all we brought was our Airstream front plate. Next year...next year!

What a great rally to call our first! Thanks to Ken & all the fantastic teachers especially Uwe, Jim, & Steve who helped us after class on Sunday with our special projects. Another special thanks to Pee Wee for sharing his caravan stories.

In this rally and as a result of the seminars we were able to get our water heater running, figure out that our fridge was mis-wired and get it going, get the other half of our 110V outlets working again! The amount of info that we learned in 3 days far exceeded what we've learned in almost 12 months of ownership. This is a must for any new Airstreamers!!!

Here are a few pics!

P.S. The new friendships are priceless, special thanks to Bill and Candy who turned us on to WBCCI and Four Corners Unit. See ya'll in Salida (with any luck, minus the clear coat )

A huge thanks to all that attended - the true success of a get together like this are the folks who attend. Your participation, enjoyment and great feedback will keep us doing this year after year - and I promise it will get better and better - my only regret is I did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked with each of you.

Hope to see y'all next year!

There were some beautiful Airstreams at the Rally. Thanks Shawn and Tiffany for posting those pics. This one in particular caught my eye. It looks like all of the windows are Jalousie's (except for the front). Anybody know who owns it?

I didn't catch many owners at their Airstreams--maybe next year. Sheridan is very happy with his rock guard Erica is a real trooper keeping her Cruisette original [as possible].

I have a long list...

I signed up for the rally to learn how to remove the outside smudge/tarp marks on my Airstream. I left this rally with a list of things to do, the outside probably being the last. I know how to replace the univolt with a new converter, pull out the 2 dents on the outside, pull up the carpet and put in a floating floor, how to adjust my windows that are hard to open/close, refinish the wooden cabinets, and how to fix my water heater (that went out the second day there). Oh yes, Levone came and tried acouple of things to help get rid of the marks on the outside, and gave me some great suggestions for cleaning it up without taking on the full polish job.

The seminar on electrical systems was so informative. OHHH I understand this stuff now! The presenters were great, and so were the attendees. Everyone offered ideas and practical techniques for any project you might want to do. Special thanks to Uwe, who freely gave his time and patiently answered all my questions.

Great job to Ken and the committee who made this rally possible.

Reflections of the Rally

Greetings,

Here are a few photos that caught my eye at the ABQ VRR. Many thanks for all who attended. It was a pleasure meeting new friends and visiting with past ones.

A special thanks goes out to Ken and Uwe for their hard work putting on this event.

Thanks also goes out to Vicki for letting us be a little crazy in her trailer park.
It was nice to hear interesting insights and stories of the early caravan travels as told by Pee Wee.

My best regards to all,
Levon

So much to do...

4CU Vintage Rally
Organizers, Instructors, Participants and new Friends,

Thanks Ya'll, for the a great rally, training sessions and fellowship. We went with the intent of learning a few things and sharing some ideas. I came away with new friendships and the confidence to go after the many repairs our '70 Safari needs, no problema! So much to do.

Appreciate all the work that went into the event, the "experts" are more that just that, the best Airstreamers on the planet... Learned a lot, plan on seeing you all again next year in our "Vintage" rig!

Nanc and I got back Monday after blowing a tire on the AS halfway between Albuquerque and Gallop...full sidewall failure with a tread tear-away. Put my new Banna-wrap tool to use yesterday to repair the damage (thanks Roger).
See ya soon Anthony and Tamara!
Stream Safe.
Bob 'n Nanc-
Oh and we'll post some pics as soon as I get back to the mainland...

I made it home again, after dropping off Peewee near his home in Arizona. My trip was very easy, as always. I wanted to thank you all for coming and for making this such a great event. I was continually amazed how you all managed to entirely derail my presentations and turn them into great big interactive discussions. Loved it. Lots of positive energy at Enchanted Trails that weekend! Can't wait for next years event, which will be even better. I will very likely bring back the Fling Cloud, which hopefully by then will be very nearly completed. Cheers!
