An interesting comment from the lady taking the reservation. They do not assign sites until you arrive so the only way to be contiguous is to show up early.
Speak to Janice, she takes care of group gatherings. She'll park everyone in a group. We are tentatively parked in the 1600's which holds about 20 trailers. It depends on the group size where she parks you all. All attendees go through Wagon Master-Rally HOST(which conducts all transactions with the campground). This way you can assure that you'll all be parked together.

I stopped over at lunch time and made my reservations for Wednesday thru Sunday (departure). I had hoped to talk to Janice but she was out for a doctor's appointment. I'm going to try to talk to her later today. The staff said that she will probably begin to block off an area of the park for our group about a week or so before the event once she sees the number of units pre-registered. I'm going to see if we can get one of the group areas in the park for a gathering area. These are grassy areas next to campsites with a number of picnic table.

My loose count has us up to eight rigs. I have word from Hunt and Sue that they have made their reservations for Thurs-Sun as well.

I just talked to Janice at Cherry Hill and she said they will be putting us all together in the 1400's spaces. You can check it out on their website map.http://www.cherryhillpark.com/

They are going to give us a group area and firewood and she said there is no problem setting up tents in the group area. So it looks like its coming together nicely. She said to mention that you are with the April 7th airstream group when you register.

Just think now we dont' have to limit the number of rigs attending. Yet!

Plus if you qualify you get a 10% discount
Rates include 2 people per unit.
$5 each extra person (over 5 years)
$5 each extra vehicle (1 car inc. with each RV)
Hookups include: electric (20/30/50 amp), cable TV, water, sewer
10% discount for Good Sam, AAA, AARP, FMCA, KOA, Military
Free WiFi connections

Check out the map. Looks like we'll be along Badlands Gulch.
Quite appropriate don't you think?

Cherry Blossom Rally

Ahoy, ye miserable maggots! We signed on for this cruise. No kids or dogs in this craft (dog I've eaten and somewhat tasty too, but not yet a child...see Jonathon Swift's "A Modest Proposal"), but as long as kids aren't shooting me with something and canines aren't pissing on me leg, bring 'em alongside.

Can you give me more information on the Outer Banks Rally. We go there often but have not heard about it.

I would keep an eye on the Washington DC Unit website. A Rally coupon for the late Aug event will show up in the next couple of months...

see WDCU - Washington D.C. Unit (#170)

First, Erica and I are definitely in for Cherry Hill Park. The pirate won me over.

The link munimula gave you is the best one, but I can't help but plug the rally. WDCU does this rally every other year. The campground (Camp Hatteras) is expensive (~$70/night - WDCU gets a discount for the rally), but it's also VERY nice, easy access to the beach, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, conference center where we do meals and such. My first rally with WDCU was the Outer Banks rally in 2006, and I was totally hooked. When we were planning vacations for this year, Erica knew I wasn't going to give up on CBR or Outer Banks.

I've been to the Outer Banks several times, both with my parents during the 90s, and now twice myself, so to save money, the last time I only went Tuesday-Sunday, which is nice also because I also had much less traffic to deal with on the way down. We'll probably do the same this year.

We have a membership at Camp Hatteras and go there often. I didn't see the date for the rally on the links.

They have August 7-14 listed on the rally page (it's not linked from the main page, but if you click on the rally schedule link, then scroll down, it's there).

It's scheduled from August 7th to the 14th at Camp Hatteras. This will be our third time attending and I wouldn't miss it! Great week with great company.

Woohoo!

Maybe I should just start an Outer Banks rally thread.

Back to the CBR. Bummer about Roger's Farm. I was afraid the weather would do this to us.

See y'all at Cherry Hill. "Nothin's goin' to stop us now"

Cherry Hill...so are we still having a Rally schedule the same as CBR? All we are doing is transfering the Rally to Cherry Hill Right? Are we having pot luck? I haven't seen any daily plans, are they the same ? How many were coming to CBR and are they coming to Cherry Hill? Just Wondering if we will still have a BIG Gathering...help us understand the rally change? AirstreamHobo.

I don't think it's an official CBR transfer (especially since I'm holding the check from the account for the CBR refund...). It's more of a grass-roots alternative - people are going to meet at Cherry Hill on their own.

I was wondering today if you were going to show up and help park everyone, though.

2010 Cherry Blossom Rally

Oh, yes, valet parking AND a free loaner car. Only hitch is you have to pedal. Car is optioned with a bulb horn though, which should be big with all you Clarabelle's though.

I have received no word that the Cherry Hill Rally is sponsored by the WDCU, otherwise I would have put that on the WDCU website. So once again, I have to put on the disclaimer: "This is not a WBCCI event!" ......seems I'm writing that an awful lot this season!

Becky and Dan can't go because of a musical that Dan is playing in ("Footloose"), but Becky seems to be urging me to go anyway. ...I do need to get away! ....
