Thanks to Ken and the other 4CU members for putting on the Balloon Fiesta Rally. Lorrie and I had a great time and just got home (in Michigan) this evening! I won't have time to sort thru my photos for a while, but then everyone else has posted some great ones, so I don't think mine will be missed.
For those that have never been to this event, I highly recommend the 4CU experience. There is no substitute for being camped right on site. Driving in each morning would not be the same even if you did not get delayed by the massive traffic jam.

Special thanks to Ken and the Four Corners Unit for making our first Balloon Fiesta a great experience!
Also, I'm sure glad we stayed until Tuesday noon. Phoenix had a big hail storm Tuesday afternoon and early evening; and if we had gone home on Monday, our truck and Airstream would have been damaged. What luck!
Now, my wife and I just have to sort through the 800+ photos we took!

We were headed for Prescott via Williams on Wednesday morning and began to hear the weather reports as we neared Flagstaff about the tornados, overturned semi and derailed train west of Flagstaff and that I 40 was closed....We stopped in Flagstaff near a gas station with an cover and waited one hour of the two hour tornado watch that was issued. We decided to go south on I 17--drove through some pretty heavy rain--stopping once under an underpass.....then on to Prescott out of the storm. We were wishing we had the Oregon Scientific Weather Station with us at the time.....we have now ordered one. We were very worried about hail but we were lucky......paula

We ordered the Oregon Scientific WR 602 Portable Public Alert Weather Radio. Emergency Public Alert Radio (WR602) :Weather Emergency Alert Systems : Weather: Oregon Scientific
I ordered it yesterday (800-414-8655) and it was $44.95 + shipping....today's link is more $$--not sure why. I was all prepared to order the "WB603" unit but the person I spoke with suggested that the WR602 would be easier to operate as it has a travel mode that the other one does not have. Have not used it yet so am no expert but sure would have liked to have had it last week. p
