2010 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta!
The Four Corners Unit is planning another GREAT rally at the 2010 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We will be camping beach front right on the grounds of the Balloon Fiesta. If you have never been before, this is a great opportunity to see this event close up - the balloons will be taking off (and landing!) yards from your front door. Check out our rally thread with lots of info on it at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f289...sta-49318.html and http://www.airforums.com/forums/f289...lly-29780.html For more information log on to Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
The dates are to arrive Oct 1st and leave the morning of the 5th rain or shine – temps can be anywhere from cold to warm. The cost at this point is $340 for four nights and INCLUDES FREE entry to all events for 2 people. There is no rally fee - just the cost of the event itself. This is the only Airstream event that camps on the fiesta grounds.
This event fills up fast and I need to know who is attending by March 15th, and ½ of the fee ($170) is due at that time - this is a Balloon Fiesta requirement, not ours. We cannot promise a site after April 1st. There is a refund policy in place in case you need to cancel later, however, I suspect we could fill the spot.
This is the only Airstream event that camps on the fiesta grounds
A fresh water truck and pump out service is available, however there are no elec hookups. Generators are ok and solar works great.
This is the perfect family rally so bring the kids and pets and lets have a great time at this VERY popular and NOT TO MISS event!
Please make the checks out to and send along with your e-mail address (very important so we can keep in touch) to:
Four Corners Unit
C/O Ken Johansen
P.O. Box 1554
Tijeras, NM 87059
Or you can contact us at fourcornersunit@hotmail.com
We look forward to another great event
Ken J

You know that Jan and I are in! This will be out 4th rally with the group and each year it just gets better. You have my email address and the check will be in the mail shortly.
The balloon fiesta is a very special event. Our location is just off the field and perfect for viewing all the action. You never know when balloon will be landing right next to your trailer.

Great event!
I finally got the chance to attend last year and man was I wowed. It is pricey, but man what a time, what a view, and you are right there! I remember sitting outside the Trade Wind before dawn drinking my own coffee waiting for the Morning Flicker show and Dawn Patrol. Meanwhile, the people staying off site were being bussed in. Missing being in the lines of busses and people is worth the extra cost by itself.
Before attending I said that this is an event I would want to do once. Now, having done it I would do it again in a heart beat. If you are wavering on going- do it, you will have a great time. Wish I could go this year.

I'm so sorry you won't be joining us this year - you will be missed...
When we started this rally, we considered on and off site - and even staying across the street - all much less expensive - in the end watching all those folks stuck in traffic in shuttle busses and seeing folks walking from across the street (a pretty long walk) made it really all worth the price of admission - again we do not charge a rally fee - so if you were to call the fiesta folks, you would pay the exact same.
I know in past years we see other Airstreams parked around - so I don't know how to find you, but since we are a large group, we get premium parking within premium parking This is a buddy rally and you do not have to be a WBCCI member. All you have to have is an Airstream in ANY condition - and if you don't have one, maybe we can find one
I've reserved 70 spaces so we should have lots of room - also the fiesta folks called me and said their reservations are running ahead of last year - which means we may not be able to get folks in last minute like we have in the past.
This is the rally of the year for me!!

2010 Balloon Fiesta
Hi Ken;
Dorothy and I are in; the check is in the mail. We had a great time last year and I touted the Balloon Fiesta to many of the folks at the Mardi Gras Rally. If they follow through you should get a bunch of first timers. Looking forward to 2010 rally.

We agree with Rodney...we thought we'd only go once and that'd be enough...but we are up for another year! It's a great thing to witness, and we couldn't have better seats. We are singing up again...count us in! Look forward to seeing our old Balloon Fiesta friends and making some new ones! We'll send the check shortly...Terry & Greg

Are pets really welcomed? Thought I read in the past that they are not allowed. Please confirm.

Pets are fine, but it is not an ideal setting for them. We have 2 big dogs (lab and lab mix) and we have a house/dog sitter we use for the event. The ground is hard and there is no grass or trees for the dogs. The nightly fireworks and the passing over balloons may be an issue for some pets as well.
