Just a quick note: There are several RV campgrounds in Williams. We stayed at one on the north side of I-40, up the hill from the Holiday Inn and several other hotels (sorry, can't remember the name), and at the Circle Pines KOA, which is down the road a little bit; and both of these had full hookups and were clean.
For those unfamiliar with Williams, Arizona, it is a touristy little town that owes its recent grown to the Grand Canyon Railroad. It has lots of restaurants, shops and night life; and it's only a few minutes west of Flagstaff.

Williams & Grants
Susan and I like this plan so at this point, count us in also.
Will need to make reservations in Williams and the railroad. We did this with our son and daughter when they were young. They really liked the railroad to the rim....
Can we just boon dock in a field or something near Grants?
It may be time to start planning ALL the stops on our trip from California....

There is a Walmart in Grants that some folks have used. We will be at the KOA in Grants. It's a nice part with great hosts. It's your last chance to fill up with water and to empty your holding tanks.
The KOA also has home cooked meals that they will deliver to your trailer.

You have mail.....
I just sent out our first update confirming all checks received through last Sat - I will be depositing those funds this week and turning money over to the balloon fiesta folks.
Also, we still have some space left, they have given us an extension of time to make reservations (we can't always count on that) until June 1st.

At the limited risk of repeating myself(myself)...the Grand Canyon RV park used to offer a deal where you could stay with them for 2 nights for $61, or stay with them for 2 nights AND get a round trip ticket on the train for $63...m

Mike; The package deal I mention above is exactly that - two nights at their RV Park and train ticket for two coach fare to the canyon. Since we have the Golden Age Pass/ America the Beautiful Pass, with taxes the total was $216.00.

OK folks - we are nearing a full rally - I think I have 9 or less spots left, so if you are thinking of joining us, I would not think much longer
This will bring us to 70 units - each year we increase our number a bit so - to see how we can get lots of trailers on the field at the same time - so if this goes well (which of course we expect - after all we are professionals), we will again increase the amount for next year.
After the rally is full, I'll start communicating with everyone via e-mail - so please send me your ledgeable e-mail addresses

I'm really looking forward to this rally. I'll be covering it for Airstream Life Magazine.

Very cool - is that a picture of you (on the left) in your avitar? If so, seems like I've seen you somewhere before...

Ken,
Sammie and I would like to Attend. I'll PM for details. Never boon-docked, never rallied, never been out of Texas with either of our Airstreams and have never seen a balloon up close. So needless to say, we're game for a little adventure. Count us in...

Ken,
I was just looking at the NM Unit page for the Balloon Fiesta and it says "Don’t miss getting up early Saturday morning (5:00 AM) to carpool to balloon field...". Is the 4CU rally at a different location or is this the same rally? I'm assuming they are in a different location, since their rally fee is substantially less ($215 for two people for 1-5 Oct).
I also saw that the Region 11 Rally in Gallup is 6-11 October. Is there some coordination between the [two] Balloon rallies and the Gallup rally for a caravan? Are many of the Balloon attendees going to the Region 11 rally?

There are two different rallies in two different locations. The NM rally is being held at the NM Fair Grounds which is downtown Albuquerque and the FCU Rally is being held on the grounds of the Fiesta Park.
I don't know of any plans for a caravan to Gallup, but I will get in contact with the other group and see if we can put something together.
Jan and I will be attending the R-11 Rally.

Thaks, Richard. Where does the NM Unit Rally park? Not that I'm thinking of changing rallies, just curious about the exact location.

Great post Richard! Seeing that foot bridge onto the field makes it seem like we were there yesterday. Our Airstream was about 150 feet from the bridge.
Dorothy and I will be attending the Region 11 Rally after the Balloon Fiesta. If there is to be a caravan we will join in.

The Fairgrounds are bounded by San Pedro on the West, Central on the South, Louisiana on the East and Lomas on the North. Probably 8 mi southeast of the Fiesta site as the crow flys.
