Oops....I see two toilet facilities for all to enjoy. Please say there is more. The Curtis has no black/gray/water/etc..etc. It is vintage after all.
You will check in at the Lakeside Center. There will be signs directing you. We will park those who are handicapped or have no facilities in their rigs as close to the rest room as possible which means close to the Creekside Center. The park has cleared this area for us.

There is no store on the grounds. Laundry, I'm not sure about. The park has a toll-free number; just search for "Braunig Lake RV" and it will come up.

As you arrive there will be signs directing you into the park from I37 and on to where you will be met by club members inside the park who will be parking you. When you arrive, you will simply give those parking you your name and advise that you need to be close to the restroom facilities. That is where you will be parked. I will pass along this request to the men handling the parking for the Vintage trailers.

The Vintage trailers will be parked in Sections D and E and the first 7 sites in Section F. The restrooms you will be parked near are inside the Creekside Center. As of now there are three of you who require this accommodation and we intend to park you in sites E25 through E28 depending upon when you arrive.

I got your phone message, Gayland - Thanks for leaving your cell number.

Do you know if Rene and "Phred Sez" are planning to attend? Kim & I enjoyed talking with them during the 2007 rally.

I talked with Phred a few months ago and he was having some unresolved problems with his unit. They won't be able to attend this year, maybe next year.

Alternative Campgrounds

I just checked with Blanco and Palmetto State Parks - both are easy commutes to San Antonio and both have campsites available. Choke Canyon SP to the South of SA is usually wide open this time of year and is a really nice place to camp.

If you want to make the open house on Saturday there IS an alternative to insure you can enjoy camping and still make the open house - besides, you never know if a last minute cancellation for the Vintage Texas Rally would occur - then (with appropriate fees) you could bring your trailer to the San Antonio CG.

I am sure there are alternative commercial campgrounds closer to San Antonio - don't know enough about them to make a recommendation.

I am certain I haven’t been able to match everyone up with their forums handles, but here is a list of 34 forums folks I do know about who are registered to attend the 2009 Texas Vintage Rally. I promised members in the past that I would try and keep them informed. If you are attending and are not included on this list, please send me a private message giving me your name and forums handle. I would like to be able for us to identify each other at the rally perhaps by attaching our forums handles to our name tags.

Marcus is not coming with his trailer for the whole rally as his trailer is just not going to be roadworthy by then. He is coming over on Saturday to spend the whole day with us and to talk with you "about Frank behind his back."

We won't be assigning parking spaces to anyone except a couple or three trailers who need to be near the restrooms and the two trailers that we will be using as demonstration trailers and their owners. Everyone else will be parked as they arrive. Vintage in the Vintage area. Non-Vintage in the Non-Vintage area.

As to your other concerns, that is half the fun - getting out, meeting folks and seeing who is doing what.

I really am disappointed guys, I was hoping to at least have an aluminum tent in time for the Texas Vintage, but it's just not going to happen. But I'm definitely coming down on Saturday to meet up with you, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Still, quite bummed to be missing the whole experience.

But I'm very excited about the time I WILL get to spend with you all.

The forcast for San Antonio is for a high of 78 today and an overnight low of 56. Tommorrow is expected to be 80 with an overnight low again of 56. Then a cool front comes through dropping temperatures to 67 with a low of 45 followed by a high of 62 with a low of 52. Weather is looking good for the rally, though one never knows. After all, this is Texas, but that is one of the reasons San Antonio was selected as the rally site. Generally, one can expect better weather that far south.
