The Four Corners Unit is once again planning another GREAT rally at the 2009 Albuquerque BalloonFiesta. We will be camping beach front right on the grounds of the BalloonFiesta. If you have never been before, this is a great opportunity to see this event close up - the balloons will be taking off yards from your front door. Last year one of our attendees even got a free ride on a balloon that landed next to his trailer! Check out our rally thread from last year with lots of info on it at 2008 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Rally For more information log on to Albuquerque International BalloonFiesta
The dates are to arrive Oct 2nd and leave the morning of the 6th. The cost at this point is $85 per night which INCLUDES FREE entry to all events for 2 people. There is no rally fee - just the cost of the event itself.
½ of the fee ($170) is due by 4/15 - now that we have been there a couple of years, the balloon folks are giving us more time to make our deposit - after this date we will not be able to promise you a spot. There is a refund policy in place in case you need to cancel later, however, I suspect we could fill the spot.
A fresh water truck and pump out service is available, however there are no elec hookups. Generators are ok and solar works great.
This is the perfect family rally so bring the kids and pets and lets have a great time at this VERY popular and NOT TO MISS event!
Please PM me with your name and e-mail address to sign up and I'll send you the details as to where to send us the deposit...
Hope to see you there!!!!!!!!!
Ken J

Jan and I are in again for the 3rd year! This is such a great event and don't forget the TTQ contest.
For folks coming from the West, many of us caravan across I-40 on the way to the rally. Last year a group of us joined up on Thursday morning in Flagstaff, AZ. We stopped for a great lunch in Winslow and spent the night at the KOA in Grants, NM. The next morning we traveled the last 80 miles to Albuquerque and meet up with the rest of the group at Camping World. The sight of 30 Airstreams traveling into the Fiesta grounds was something to see. I will be calling the KOA in Grants shortly.
Oh the Trailer Trash Queen is the highlight of the weekend - we will have Michaela's last walk down the Airstream Blue carpet where she will crown the new Four Corners Unit Trailer Trash Queen!
The "Trailer Trash Queen" competition is an annual event at the Balloon Fiesta. The winner gets to carry the title of TTQ for the next year. It is a lot of fun and last year we had some great entries.
Thanks Ken, we really enjoy this one a lot. We talked about going to the Fiesta for 30+ years and now that we have gone, we just want to keep coming back.
For those folks who will be coming from the west and spending the night before the rally in Grants, NM, the KOA is where we will be staying. It's a nice quiet park located about a mile from the interstate. Tell them you are with the Airstream Group and they will park us together. Reservations are a must as everything in the area books up pretty early because of the fiesta. The KOA also offers some terrific home cooked meals, delivered to your trailer. Who wants to cook after spending a day on the road? Here is the information for the KOA:
Yup - in 20 years have not grown tired of the Balloon Fiesta - always something new every year... did get real fun until we started doing this rally - we used to be then ones waiting in lines - now we just get up and roll out of bed - its GREAT!
