Gail and I didn't get much response on our previous post for Airstreamers caravanning from California so I'll try again. We plan to meet in Williams, AZ at the Railside RV Ranch, Railside RV Ranch , on Wednesday, September 30th. We hope to have people join us for dinner in town that evening.
Thursday morning we will caravan to Flagstaff to meet Richard and Jan and the Four Corners members and guests coming up from Phoenix. Plans for lunch are not yet finalized but the La Posada in Winslow was a favorite last year. Thursday night we will stop at the Grants, NM KOA, http://koa.com/where/nm/31163/. There we can have an individual or group barbecue or order one of the entrees from the KOA.
Friday morning we will caravan to the Camping World at the Western outskirts of Albuquerque where we will join up with others for the caravan into the Balloon Fiesta.
Please email, private message or call me 951.780.5199 if you are interested in joining our group along the way.

Don,
Thanks for posting the reminder. Jan and I will be waiting at Little America on Thursday morning and we have reservations for the KOA in Grants. We are looking forward to this spectacular event again.
I don't think we can find a better place to stop for lunch, but I am always open for suggestions. The La Posada is a piece of history with a great lunch menu.

Its that time again - all of you who have signed up should have received an e-mail from me requesting the final payment due to the balloon fiesta folks - if for any reason you did not get it, please let me know.

Can we get in?
We were just talking about taking the boys to see this. I'm hoping there's still room. Could we join you?
We'll have to miss the Rt 66 New Mexico Motor Tour. We are going to have to leave on Friday as soon as school is out and drive in the evening leading into night. We'll arrive at night. Hopefully we can do this without disturbing to many neighbors
Please let me know if we can join you this year.
Thanks,
Debi Grande

Reservations made at the Grants, NM KOA for 1 Oct!
Here we come! Can't wait!
When I called and said I wanted to make reservations for 1 October she said, "Are you with the Airstream group?" So they know we're heading their way!

Balloon Fest!
Hey Ken,
Not sure if you remember but we met on the side of the road down from Minturn on our way to Buena Vista last year! Well, Molly and I are very interested in coming to the rally at the balloon festival, we lived in Santa Fe for a year back in 2000-2001 and never made it, this is great reason to finally go. I'll keep looking at the details on line but if you any tips, let me know if you get a chance. Haven't been to a rally yet and can't wait to chat with some experts/fanatics about what we are all crazy about!!!
Thanks,
Jeff and Molly

Yes! I remember you - in fact I PM'ed you and never heard back - anyway, if you could PM me with your e-mail address, I'll get a sign up form to you right away - I'll need to get your fiesta fee pretty quick as I'm about to send in the final payment to the balloon folks..
Hope you can join us - we have a great time!

I'm surprised that there isn't more chatter about the rally. I know I am pretty excited. I'm flying mom in so she can see it, and then we are going to do a few days poking around the state. She wants to catch the hot springs up the Jemez Canyon, and we might go ride the Cumbres and Toltec- anyone have experience with the train? Anyway, I am really looking forward to this.

We will have a blast - you should see more discussion as we get closer - its usually kinda quiet over the summer.
I'm looking forward to this too.

Estancia Pumkin Chunkin Rally 10/16
If anyone is interested in the 1st Annual Estancia Pumkin Chunkin Rally 10/16 after the Balloon Fiesta. Estancia is about an hour from Abq. and an hour from Santa Fe.
The cost will be $25/ person. I need to start collecting funds and firming up plans. So far I only have a couple of RSVPs. For more info see the rally section or the 4CU forum, or send me a PM.

see you at Grants KOA on the 1st.
I finally got my act together and made our reservation. I think we got the last 30 Amp full hook-up pull-through. I also noted that we were with the Airstream group.

Rodney - although we haven't ridden the C & T yet it's high on our list of things we want to do. We've seen the station in Chama a couple of times. Chama is a really cool little town and is worth spending some time in.

2009 Balloon Fiesta
Regarding post #75
Ken; I just made our reservation at the Grants KOA for Oct 1, 2009. I asked to be with/near the Airstream group. I did it all on-line and have no idea how many Airstreams will be there. Do you know how many are expected at Grants?

No - I've not kept track of how many are at Grants - however, I know you won't be alone...

We will be in Grants and I suspect the total will be between 6 and 8 based on responses here and previous years.
You do not have to plan on cooking dinner at Grants. The KOA has a nice dinner menu of reasonably priced meals and they will deliver to your trailer.
