I called and reserved space at Enchanted Trails for Thur. Oct. 1 so as to meet up with the 4CU Balloonies to caravan into the festival/rally on the 2nd.
They will put us streamers together in the same area. Seems like the perfect location to overnight if we are all going to leave from Camping World next door. Very nice people. They do not require an advance deposit. Give them a call and book your space as they said activity is picking up.
Vicki - who owns the campground - is a good friend of mine - she is VERY accomodating to us Airstream folks - and that is because she knows we are very good folks!!
Each spring she lets us pretty much take over the campground with our restoration rally - its a great time where we put up a big tent and tear into Airstreams showing all kinds of rebuilding skills.
Vicki and I (and some others) are also planning a Rt 66 New Mexico Motor Tour - it will be a really great trip across New Mexico which will include trailers (old and new) - lots of old cars - motorcycles etc - lots of historic Rt 66 stuff - should be a blast - watch for that in July 2010

Gail and I didn't get much response on our previous post for Airstreamers caravanning from California so I'll try again. We plan to meet in Williams, AZ at the Railside RV Ranch, Railside RV Ranch , on Wednesday, September 30th. We hope to have people join us for dinner in town that evening.
Thursday morning we will caravan to Flagstaff to meet Richard and Jan and the Four Corners members and guests coming up from Phoenix. Plans for lunch are not yet finalized but the La Posada in Winslow was a favorite last year. Thursday night we will stop at the Grants, NM KOA, http://koa.com/where/nm/31163/. There we can have an individual or group barbecue or order one of the entrees from the KOA.
Friday morning we will caravan to the Camping World at the Western outskirts of Albuquerque where we will join up with others for the caravan into the Balloon Fiesta.
Please email, private message or call me 951.780.5199 if you are interested in joining our group along the way.

Don,
Thanks for posting the reminder. Jan and I will be waiting at Little America on Thursday morning and we have reservations for the KOA in Grants. We are looking forward to this spectacular event again.
I don't think we can find a better place to stop for lunch, but I am always open for suggestions. The La Posada is a piece of history with a great lunch menu.
Its that time again - all of you who have signed up should have received an e-mail from me requesting the final payment due to the balloon fiesta folks - if for any reason you did not get it, please let me know.
I'm in! I'm looking forward to meeting all you out there.

We were just talking about taking the boys to see this. I'm hoping there's still room. Could we join you?
We'll have to miss the Rt 66 New Mexico Motor Tour. We are going to have to leave on Friday as soon as school is out and drive in the evening leading into night. We'll arrive at night. Hopefully we can do this without disturbing to many neighbors
Please let me know if we can join you this year.
Thanks,
Debi Grande
Yes - we still have a few spaces left that we can get you in - can't promise this late a registration every year, the balloon folks are really nice to us - so we are good for now -
Hey Ken,
Not sure if you remember but we met on the side of the road down from Minturn on our way to Buena Vista last year! Well, Molly and I are very interested in coming to the rally at the balloon festival, we lived in Santa Fe for a year back in 2000-2001 and never made it, this is great reason to finally go. I'll keep looking at the details on line but if you any tips, let me know if you get a chance. Haven't been to a rally yet and can't wait to chat with some experts/fanatics about what we are all crazy about!!!
Thanks,
Jeff and Molly
