Williams, AZ & Grants, NM Caravan Stopovers

Bob Kelly reminded Gail and I at the FCU Dead Horse Rally that it's time to make our reservations for stopovers at the Railside RV Ranch in Williams, AZ (those coming from California and the Northwest) and the Grants/Cibola Sands KOA in Grants, Nm (from all points west). I called both and made our reservations tonight; used Kevbo's name at Railside to get the preferred rate in Williams. Info, numbers and web sites are:

Wednesday, October 1, 2008
Railside RV Ranch, 888.635.4077 (tell them Kevbo & the Airstreamers)
Railside RV Ranch

Thursday, October 2, 2008
Grants/Cibola Sands KOA, 888.562.5608 (ask for Susan)
Grants New Mexico Camping, Grants/Cibola Sands Campground in New Mexico - KOA in Grants

We'll work with others to set up the caravan but get your reservations in early.

Grants is about an hour from Albuquerque and the whole area was booked solid by the time the Fiesta rolled around. I am suggesting that we spend Thursday night at the same location this year. Does someone from the coast want to pick a spot for the night before. If Kevbo is going this year, Williams might be on the list...

OK, since I need to start the movement to gain the TTQ title, I am mike/john/Darlene, I'm a 4CU Charter member, and, if chosen, would serve(shamelessly) as a proud representative of the unit...I would probably even go to national and get asked to leave because I wouldn't take down my flamingo 'flag'...but let's not get too far ahead. I will take out a loan to furnish liquid bribes, provide gummy flamingoes to anyone that wants one, and will take out the trash(if it's bagged). I will wear Hawaiian(?) shirts. I will drink beer, bloody marys, and margaritas(all in the same night), and will arise late the next morning. I will eat potlucks and burn environmentally inappropriate copper pipe/garden hose flame pleasers. If I've left anything out that would sway your vote towards me, please let me know, and I will promise to do it(whether or not I actually do).
HEY, this politic thing isn't that hard...

OK, the explanation is that some posts were deleted, and I thought it might have been an automated filter that had specific words earmarked, then refiltered by the moderator...the deletion has not affected the particular post folks warning ratings, but the posts are gone, just the same...just no accounting for taste ?
It took awhile for the posts to disappear, so we'll see if it was a personal thing or just a filter...naked, unclothed, and curious...

Mike - I just looked through this thread and no posts have been deleted. Is it possible that the posts you are looking for are in last years Balloon Fiesta thread? I closed that thread to new posts today because of the confusion. If you find them and want them moved to this thread, let me know.

Oooop my bad - yes the lewd posts were on the 07 thread.

But um, er, ahhh - this is a sensitive subject subject - but,

Mike, in your case, you may want to keep it covered up.....

Well if you don't cover yourself up a bit - the judges will need dark sunglasses and will not be able to see all of your beauty.

Are you paying everybody off on this subject - I've not heard from others entering this contest. With the main prize being on an annual cover of the FCU newsletter, one that I know everyone will look forward to each year.

There will be other gifts as well, but those we can't tell you yet what they are (maybe because we don't know what they are yet )

Just a note to let you know if you are thinking of attending that this is the last week I can promise spots - I'll have to let the fiesta folks know on Monday how many spots I'm taking - I'll try to get them to extend the deadline, but since they sell out, they may not let me hold extra spots.

Its interesting as of this date, we have exactly the same number of reservations as we had attendees last year - this year I had reserved a few more.
