Yup - this is the day - at the end of the day, we will no longer be able to accept any new reservations because we need to focus on finalizing our planning this great rally for the next few weeks - those of you who are joining us can expect a fabulous time! Expect to hear from us soon!

Registration is now closed for this rally - final count looks like 30 units - a 27% increase over last year! Pretty cool.

The planning committee is putting its final touches on this, expect to have a great time - if you are missing this year, you are missing the rally of a lifetime! Hope you can make it next year.

I will be sending a newsletter to attendees out in the next day or so, so please look for that as well as information on this forum.

Weather looks fantastic (easy to say now) for the mass take off on Sat morning - expecting tons of balloons with some new special shapes this year.

We will have lots of fun, lots of food and will be seeing some old friends as well as making some great new friends.

So stay tuned - less than 30 days!!!!!!!!

FCU ROCKS!

Newsletter #2 has been e-mailed to all who are participating - we do this because there are those who are not on this forum.

The summary version is we are meeting at Camping World, Chili cookoff on Fri night, various balloon and non-balloon events on Sat-Mon.

And - drum roll please - we now have official FCU shirts!

So we are looking forward to a fantastic time!

Talking Chilli (chille)

Ken, RE: newsletter #2 - I don't think there is such a thing as a non-edible animal or creature, particularly when your talking chilli. Thats why the stuff was invented.

Thats what I was afraid of - in good chili, you can't really tell what's in it - and I've heard folks put some pretty crazy ummm stuff in it

But then I if you have to ask whats in it.... cooks secret

Hmmm, I see where early lift off is at or before dawn. So that means that there was a typo on listing the Happy Hour beginning at 4 pm - Methinks it should be 4 AM if we're gonna be in good humor at lift off.

Ya know the planners thought about a 4 AM happy hour, but we figured that after the 4 PM happy hour, we would not need one.... that is if (hummm you know who you are who were in a certain motorhome) we follow last year...

I'm not admitting to nothing however no where have I seen reference to the "end" of happy hour. It would be a very sad thing indeed if, at the end of a hour, you had to become unhappy. I suspect the high cost of blue agave will limit the "Margarita per hour" intake this year. Perhaps the 4CU will sponsor a rally in Tequila Mexico where we could enjoy watching the cultivation, harvest, fermentation, and distillation of the Agave plant. I understand there is no additional charge for sleeping on the floors of the various tasting rooms but there is a small charge for shooting out the lights.

Somehow I doubt the price of blue agave will limit intake this year - a rally in Tequila Mexico sounds like a perfect fit for the FCU though...

Minor quibbles with rules:

#1 Chili or chile in the name. This is New Mexico and it is fall so beware of the green chile stew!

#2. Non-corrosive to aluminum or stainless steel.

#3 No argument.

Also need chips!

See y'all soon.

I'm in!

Since we will be getting to the Fiesta around 2PM and then need to setup, that leaves us very little time to prepare the dish. I would suggest making the chili before hand and heating it up when we are all ready.
