Ken,
Tried to send an email...
Enchanted Trails will be kinda full...unless they have an area I haven't seen, any caravan staging at their location would really confine(if not trap) the residents...

Visit our blog http://www.scrapirony.com/ We live for the moment, 'cause when you get there, it's gone...
You will drive right by the fiesta on 25 to get to the meeting point at CW. I think we are meeting there again. Traffic could be a factor, it does get a little crazy. You may want to do that the night before and spend the night at the campground next to the CW.
I'm not sure what we'll be doing. We live right off I-25, two exits up the road from the Balloon Fiesta Park and we store our trailer one exit up the road. I don't know if it's worth fighting the traffic and burning the gas to get over to CW just to turn around and come back! Granted, the caravan would be fun, but then again the whole weekend will be fun.
We're in it purely for the social element - plus it will be nice not having to get up at 5:30am, fighting traffic, parking, and everything else it takes to be able to get to a mass ascension by 7:00. What's nicer is that we don't have any company coming from out of town for the Balloon Fiesta this year!!!

We will need to find out who is coming from where this year - we do CW because most came from the west last year - this year there we are coming from different directions - what we need to do at least is co-ordinate times - they like us to arrive at about the same time so they can park us together - if most of us do that, then we will make sure we keep spaces open - I'll explain this all in a newsletter as we get closer.
Then again the carivan is pretty cool - as long as someone makes sure we are in the right lane.... hmmmm who would that be.....
CW worked out very well last year, even with the extra lane on I-40.
Great place to pick up any last minute items you may need. I might be biased since I will be coming in from Grants again this year.
Since Jim and Rod have no visitors this year, maybe we could meet at their place. It sounds like the neighbors are a fun group. Got room for around 30 Airstreams?
Yea thats it - party at Jim and Rods! And we can invite all the non Airstreamers at the balloon fiesta - after all we don't want you guys to feel a loss for any out of town company

Gail and I are coming from Riverside, CA, Bob and Diana from Brea, CA; not sure on others. We both have RV sites reserved at the Railside RV park in Williams for Wednesday night. I was told that there are 8 trailer sites reserved at the Grants, NM KOA for Thursday night. We don't have a formal caravan leader but we will work out those details later and meet up at Camping World.

I know you guys are kidding... right? Well...??
30 Airstreams?? Well that could upset some of the neighbors. Others would want to tour all of them.
However, our house could handle 60 Airstreamers without a problem. Now, that's not an invitation (yet). We'll see how things plan out for the weekend. An impromptu gathering for brats on the grill could be fun.

Last year we caught up with the folks from further west at Little America in Flagstaff on Thursday morning around 9am. We then traveled together for the most part into Grants. We made several stops along the way to break up the trip. I also collected cell phone numbers from the folks on the trip so we could communicate on the road. Let me know if you are interested in doing this again this year.
BTW, the KOA in Grants offers some home cooked meals, delivered to your trailer. Everyone who had a meal was very satisfied with the quality and price of the meal.
Yea we were kidding about the 30 Airstreams - what we really meant was 30 Airstreams + 100 sob's + 75 motorhomes and 5 Prvosts....figured we could get at least that many if your cooking brats on the grill
We are going to be arriving from Wyoming, and will come in from the north on I-25. We have gotten a reservation for the night of October 2nd at the KOA in Bernalillo, just north of Albuquerque (Exit 242).
The map of Balloon Fiesta Park that I printed fro the Forums show the Park as being on the west side of I-25 north of Alameda Boulevard. Microsoft Streets and Trips is showing the Park about a mile west of I-25 and south of Alameda Boulevard. Can someone clarify this for me?
Also, from where we are going to be, is it reasonable for us to meet with the group at the Camping World on the morning of the 3rd and, if so, where is it, and what time would we need to be there?
Thanx, Brian

Brian, Last year we met around 10 or 11 in the morning. Grants is 80 miles away and we had time for breakfast and the drive and made it with plenty of time to spare. You are just a few miles from ground zero, piece of cake. The CW is located just West of I-25 (3 or 4 miles) on the north frontage road of I-40. Traffic around the fiesta (Alameda and I-25) will be bad and you should try to avoid that area.
Friday is really a non balloon day at the fiesta. Many of the balloons take off from the local schools in Albuquerque, but not much happens at the fiesta. We drive in, setup and basically meet and greet everyone.
