Lucius the fairgrounds probably could not give you an exact number of hook-ups because they will be expanding a central hook-up to multiples. Bring LOTS of sewer hose AND duct tape. I did not connect with my single hose, about 4 or more may have gotten back and around to the other side on my unit. It will probably depend on the volunteers how many hook-ups they create.
Minnie's Mate, look me up if you visit. Should not be a problem at all.

as i recall from last year, saturday is the ONLY day for official visits and visitors...
certainly folks just drop in on any day and skip the security check point...
this is frowned upon big time...
and IF you go into the vendor area or other indoor areas someone may approach you for id...
if the wb volunteers wearing security hats (no foolin) spot you and are in the mood...
you will be asked to leave or escorted off site...
there was a day with some thefts from officer moho/trailers last year,
when folks were attending a function (before the official rally started)
afterward a pseudo lockdown was started. the main gain was to be closed at 10pm and IF not inside one had to call a guard...
of course there were alternate ways in/out but perry may have different access...
afterwards many were eyeballin' badges and name tags big time....
saturday is also when the vac has it's open house and the vintage units toured...
cheers
2air'
2air,
The VAC open house at Salem was on Friday, remember, the day the tanks were pumped?
I had a friend come by a couple of times during the week, but I was in the VAC section near the road and not near the action.

We ahd originally planned to go to the International Rally late last summer. It's only about 250 miles from home. We figured that this was a good opportunity to go to an international. The more we read about it, the more we were scared by it. We don't really want to be prisoners for eight days with minimal electric and minimal sewer service. When we camp with our Airstream, we like to come and go as we please. Soo, we decided against going.

I know that, I meant near the vendors, registration, exhibits, workshops, entertainment, internet access, you know the important stuff which we need to keep away from outsiders.

The trip to Salem was 900 miles for us. That close, I had to go. Why, you ask? To see first hand what it was, I had been told that you only need to go every other year or so, and to meet people on this forum and other lists which I have met only virtually. Unfortunately, many local forum members did not attend, but had a separate function nearby, I had hoped to meet them, but I was difficult for us to get away.
Listen to other peoples thoughts, but make up your own mind based on your own experiences. Everyone looks at life through the filter of their experiences. No one looks at life the same way you do.
It was worth it and we will go to Bozeman in 2008 for the same reasons.

What is the protocol for day visits? We may have a day at the beginning of that we can "drop by" on our way south.
I'd be surprised if it changes but there are day passes. We arrived mid-week last year. We flew in for the SaveWally reception -- oh yeah -- and the name change vote (almost forgot!)...
So we were in a hotel and paid $10/day for the passes. I believe the day pass also included the entertainment, but you better check on that one -- I didn't attend any official functions except the Photo Print Contest, the Delegates Meeting, the VAC meeting and the Pet show (hey - that one wasn't MY idea -- wifey dragged me to that one)...
I did attempt to do a leadership meeting but it was packed and when I got there it appeared they had broken into small group sections (elbow to elbow) working something out. That went on for 20+ minutes so I left.
Bottom line is you can stop by any day -- just make sure you go to registration and tell them you're looking for a day pass.

I was honored to met you at the 2006 International. You may not remember me poking around the vintage section with my sister Patty but I remember you.

Michelle,
I think "honored" is a little over the top, but you are one of those who are no longer electrons on a screen but a real person. BTW, don't you and Leon owe me the parts list for the flag pole light?

Yes, this is true. We have gotten around this promise within the NEU by just making the flag pole light thingie and giving them to our flag flying members.
Leon had given me the list, I need to find it (gosh, I hope I didn't recycle it) and get it posted.
BTW, I WAS honored to me you.
