My pictures are here! (Just ignore the misc pictures of the roof of my camper and my Cougar. I was doing some documentation shots of the camper and the car on the tow dolly.)

It poured overnight Saturday night. I didn't take a picture of the results Sunday morning - there were even puddles inside the tent, unfortunately. However it didn't look like anyone was having trouble getting out, at least when I left. Great to put a face to vajeep and others.

Rob and Zoe, the rainbow is fabulous, how cool. Skater, loved the pics. I hate it that folks got soaked, but rain doesn't usually get in the way of an Airstreamer's good time.

Fun had by all

I would have to say, even with the "build the Ark" rain that chased a bunch of folks off on Sat. afternoon, a good time was still had by all. Some clown named "Obie" had balloons made in every shape and placed on many childrens heads, Pete Daniel took Obie's duck for a walk (it was before the rain) and the kids ad a great time with that. I heard 40 rigs in all, from north of the boarder to SC showed up for the rally. We had our WDCU "biz" meeting were all said "NO" via show of hands to the amendment (the final vote will be held May 1, - June, 1 via the internet) I understand we signed up 4 or 5 new members to the WDCU and a couple of people planning to change over next year becuase they had so much fun. Of course, food and drink were a plenty as always. Sat. night for those who stayed, we had a one man band show up and play music into the night. It was a little chilly at times, but for the most part the sun show its head just enough to get you warm. I think we had a total of 10-12 children from ages 4-13 most in the 4-7 year range. It was the first "CBR" for 5 units. We even had a "CLASS A MOTORHOME" at our rally. (Guess what? My understanding, they are not for the amendment either.)
Our Region 2 Prez "Barry Heckenswiler" (Barry's an affiliate of the WDCU)showed up pulling his Airstream trailer, I think Barry always has a great time at our rallies. So, there you have it, lots of kids, old trailers, some old cars, motorhome and B-van, some new rigs, lots food and drink and a lot of rain at the end. But most of all, everyone had a great time.

Nice group of pictures, now that should be on the cover of the BB or index! Love the pictures of the young people having fun. Saw Obie's duck once while he went entertaining. Lots of laughs.

Listened to the latest VAP and heard Bert leader of the Capetown to Cairo Caravan for 2009 speak about the energy and fun of the CBR and WDCU and how the unit has the right idea and is growing and to go sign up! YEA!!

Cool street sign and neat picture of the rally in the mirror.

It was fun even though we showed up Airstream-less and the weather was dull.It was our very first rally of any type! The crowd was lively and everyone was so friendly even though we didn't have our trailer and nobody knew us. We didn't get a chance to tour all of the trailers but were invited to a lot.
All in all we were bitten by the WDCU bug and plan to sign on.

Airstreamless

Patricia and I also drove in Sat to see the DC wrecking crew, enjoyed meeting everyone. Joined up while there, still getting 31 Sovereign together.
Thanks to all for the hospitality.

This was our first rally and it was great being with all the Airstream folks and continuing our learning curve. We were in the group who stayed over until Sunday and the rain didn't start until later Saturday night. It was great to be able to talk shop with so many experienced and helpful people and to make so many new friends.
