2006 RMVAC Rally - Creede, CO
So who's going to the vintage rally in Creede, CO this year? Mailed my reservation off yesterday. We're excited about it being Creede. Such a cool scenic town.

I believe it starts Aug 11 and goes until Aug 16. The web address is www.rmvac.org. We've been to the last two in Colorado Springs and they were great, a wonderful relief as at that time of year it is around 100 degrees plus at home.

One of the perks of membership!
Due to the popularity and growth of this rally, it is being limited to 60 trailers and WBCCI/VAC members only this year. Like Paul mentioned, detailed information can be found at www.rmvac.org and the attendees list is online and updated periodically as registrations come in...of course I'll be there!!! Wouldn't miss it ~ we have a lot of great surprises in store!

Darn, I'm going to miss the event by one week. I'm down in Lake City/Ouray for the Touareg offroad event I setup in the first week of August. I don't think that I can swing a 'down south' trip two weeks in a row.

We'll be there. Last year's rally in Colorado Springs restored my faith in all things Airstream. We promptly sold our 2000 Safari and bought a '76 Sovereign just so we could upgrade from affiliate members of the Vintage Airstream Club to full fledged members. Great club, great members, great fun!

No worries, there's plenty of time to join if you aren't already a member!

Funny how it has that effect on people. A month after the first rally in Colorado Springs we bought a 67 Caravel. Then comes the second rally in Colorado Springs and a week after we get back we buy a 54 Cruiser. Can't wait to see what happens this year.

Why does the web site say this:
Open to Members of the the VAC, the WBCCI, and first timers interested in joining both.

If the comment about first timers is correct I am 90% sure I would attend.

The past five years the planning committee has encouraged first-time non-member attendence . The rally attendee list has grown to over 130 participants. Based on limited physical space this year - only 60 spaces - it is being offered to "members only" on a first-sign-up for members basis. It is not a Buddy Rally as the earlier RMVAC Rallies have been...sorry ~
First timers are welcome to join and attend, you won't be disappointed!

Maybe they should change the web site then.......
http://www.rmvac.org/2006%20website/info.html
If the event has grown to over 130, why have it at a location that will only support 51 units? 9 units will be at another location 1/4 mile away?

Hi All:
The 2006 VAC Rocky Mt. Rally web site has been revised to remove the above confusing wording and be more clear about what we mean. I apologize for my poor choice of words, carried over from last year, that caused some confusion. Now it should be clear that you must be a WBCCI member to register and attend but need not be a VAC member. If you are not currently a WBCCI member, we can help you become one as part of registering for our Rally. If you are not also a VAC member - all of whom must first be WBCCI members - we hope you will also join the VAC before or while attending the Rally, after seeing the fun we have.
Attending this successful VAC Rally is one of the benefits of WBCCI membership. During our growing years we used to invite non-members to check us out. But last year, even with 70 trailer spaces available, we were still oversubscribed. So this year we are limiting registration to WBCCI members only, who may or may not also be VAC members.
This year we can accomodate 60 trailers which, with couples, SOs and families attending, translates into about 130 participants. We do not require single trailer occupancy to attend our Rally, so we have 60 trailer spaces available for those 130+- participants. Due to other people having long term or seasonal leases on trailer spaces in the RV Park where we will be for only 5 days, sixty contiguous trailer spaces simply were not available in this RV Park. So rather than limit the Rally to 51 contiguous trailers, we got 9 more trailer spaces a short distance away, which means we can accommodate an additional 19.5 Happy Attendees! We look forward to having another great time this year.
