I wish that we could get there Thursday evening, but the kids have already missed enough school this year, between mourning Sherri's death and being sick. Michael is borderline already for being held back, if he misses one more day. I didn't go to work yesterday, because of my appt with my shrink, and today I had my over-30 retention physical, so I really need to go to work tomorrow and the better part of Friday morning......God I love the Army!!!!!

Rob sent me some pix to post for him. At the time of his email to me, there were seven Airstreams in attendance. Don't forget your hoses and cords.

Now I wanna really get to a rally.

Our trailer is still in the middle of her "assnoplasty" so we'll be coming without her. What time are folks planning on heading out the the CBF parade on Saturday? We'd like to be able to meet everyone and see some trailers.

Ready or NOT!

Well here it is Thursday afternoon at 5:27 PM and I'm finally leaving (abandoning) my dirty office and heading home where I will (a) do laundry (b) try to figure out where to put the rest of my stuff in the new trailer (c) make my bed and clean at least a bit (d) double check my directions .... damn, where did I put them...whew... (e) fill my gas tank... (f) check the tire inflation and lugs on the new trailer (g) get hitched up (h) sleep until dawn's early light (i) double check my hitch up, turn off the propane tanks and GO RALLYING!

Paula Ford

PS: I plan to buy groceries once I get there, haven't stocked a single THING since moving and don't have anything in the refrig or freezer to keep the cold temps acceptable. Will look for the glowing "Wal-mart" superstore on the way.

One last totally crazed question!

I really LOVE driving I-95... I'd sooner have a pelvic with a post hole digger!

How narrow IS that bridge on 301 across the Potomac? Would I be totally insane to come up 301? It is a very pretty drive once you are away from the Richmond beltway. Please advise anyone who's been there.

Rob sent me a few more pictures (wish he'd stop doin' that). Thirty eight trailers at the time of his email at 5:30PM and more are on the way. Wonder what tomorrow morning will bring. Looks like the Miller Lite keg will last along time.

Really wanna rally.

Now that's how it should be done. Really wanted to make it this year. This is becoming the East Coast version of the Rocky Mountain Rally.

looks like you are in need of a new rear bumper for your overlander .They say it cannot be done, not available,no way . Not so ,I have a new bumper on my 60 tradewind . The grumman olson body company on long island NY has them. Grumman used this same bumper on over 20 years of aluminum stepvan bodies. They came in a different configuration however. upon contact with grumman parts department, you would order the base bumper only ,no step or kidneys as they are called. It is available in aluminum or steel.I purchased mine for about 78 dollars 1 1/2 years ago in steel. They are a little lighter gauge steel and is lighter. No spare tire here. Now they arent exactly the same ,as the stepvan bumper wrapped around on the ends . the airstream bumper wraps around just abit not as much . So remove old bumper ,lay directly on top of new bumper and mark on the ends where you will cut, yes cut or what I call "bob" the ends on the new bumper. The curvature is identicle just longer on the new part. A local metal or welding shop can cut it for you . couldnt cost to much .The bumpers are welded on the airstreams so must be cut off . the shop could just do the whole job for you . you supply bumper. Sounds harder than it is . The new bumper is identical to your overlanders . I have a photo of mine on the tradewind new member post you can see it.Sorry for the off topic thing but I wanted to offer a solution if needed.

We are planning on attending the CBR next year. I'm thinking we should schedule a NEU "Express" Caravan down and back. Would be a lot of fun.

to tell you the truth i don't think this Rally field we were in has much room for any more growth. a quick glance around the field had me thinking maybe ten more rigs at the most. there were those adjacent fields with the nice horses in them.

others with more rally experience may want to chime in here about if there any room for much more growth at this site.
