My wife and I just talked about it and we'll be back for 2005. I enjoyed the music from Chuck Schmitz and his friend from back east while soaking in the evening. Or the stories of the others about their jouney to Colo Spgs ( we traveled less than seven miles & the original owner lived about 0. nuthin miles from the site. )
If I lived in CO Springs, I'd definitly be there! Last year was a blast! But, alas, I fear our journeys this summer will not take us close to CO. Maybe next year...
Fred,
Are people allowed to attend by "horseback" ? I have some vacation time planned for August but not sure if I will be able to drag the "Silver Queen" that far in the alotted time

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going

Aaron:
Gallop on over! You are certainly welcome to attend the Rally without a trailer. If you want to participate in Rally events while you are here, sign up and pay just the Rally fee. There will be enough aluminum around to ease the pain of trailer separation. If you simply want to briefly visit and see what's happening, the premier drop-in day is Saturday when we have the open house. In past years, people have stopped by Mon-Wed daytime only to find nobody home, as we were all away at off-site activities. We look forward to meeting you this August!

Downloaded and completed the registration form just minutes ago, and will be getting mine in the mail later today - - should be postmarked in Carbondale tomorrow. I am sure this year's rally will be a highlight of the summer as the last two have been for me.

Greetings Aaron!
Last year, my tow vehicles both became victims of Murphy's Law at the last minute (Suburban was stuck in 4WD-Hi, and Cadillac had front suspension problems) so I attended sans trailer - - and late as a result of Murphy's Law with the daily driver that was my transportation (blown radiator in Goodland, Kansas). Since all of my problems were last-minute, I wasn't able to take advantage of this option but it is one that might be viable for you. Garden of the Gods campground also has camping cabins for rent (at a reasonable price when compared to most of the motels in the area). The nice thing about the camping cabins is that they allow one to attend the rally sans trailer, but still be on-site and handy for all of the activities.

Kevin:
We all look foward to seeing you again this year, towing a Murphy-free trailer with a similar tow vehicle. Thanks for mentioning to Aaron the campground cabins. That's a wonderful option we forgot to list.

Oh, I wish we could drag our 67 up! It's not even that far, but the beginning of August is too busy for us to get away for more than a few hours at a time. Ugh!
Lynn
I just fedexed my application and check.
I look forward to August. This will be our summer vacation.
Last year was a blast. This year we will make a detour to Grand Canyon on the way to Colorado.
We will bring a guest this year, forum member Creampuff.
I am going to try my hardest to get the 63 Overlander ready for the trip.
The organizing Committee for the Vintage Airstream Club's 2005 Rocky Mountain Rally is pleased to announce that we have just broken last year's attendance record of 70 trailers. As of this evening, we have 73 trailers signed up to attend our VAC Rally, to be held August 5-10, 2005 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
For information on our Rally, please visit and prowl around our web site:
We are extremely pleased to see so many of our friends coming back again this year! And we look forward to meeting all first time attendees and open house visitors.
Vintage Rules the Rockies!
For the Committee,
Fred Coldwell
