Yosemite Camp sites for sale- Labor Day

Our family booked three extra sites for the Labor Day weekend, F-M.
They are in the Upper Pines area, two are next to each other, the other
is across from them. We are hoping to sell them, as the National Park System charges us $45 dollars to cancel. We paid $80 a piece and would like to get $20 extra for our troubles. $100 per site. Each one can accomodate your Airstream up to 26 ft long. No hookups.

Are you offering 50% discount for Golden Age and Golden Access card holders like the NP? $50 per site sounds right.

$20 extra for what troubles? You reserved some sites and you now need to bail. So you overbooked and are now looking to profit on a scarce resource?

Please tell me I misunderstood.

Thanks - Pat

That's funny, you did it last year too. Maybe I should have taken one then since the price was cheaper.....

Yosemite- Campground
Our family is not available to use the two campgrounds that we reserved for the labor day weekend. These were $60 a piece, looking to cover these expenses. Both are in the Upper Pines area, not next to one another. Willing to sell both, or separate the two.

FYI: All campsites in Yosemite Valley have to be booked 6 months in advance, for summer months they are gone within a couple of hours on the first day the booking is available. It's hard to predict everybody's schedule 6 months in advance.

Booking for any holiday weekend is an extra trouble, I don't mind paying extra.

I'm sure it's not meant to be this way, but sounds like hoarding to me, creating a shortage of a scarce commodity.

When you think about it, it is like how you cannot find toilet paper in some office buildings in some cities. The folks there steal it before someone else does so they will be sure to have it when they need it. And this guarantees there will be none available to others.

Or when you have the opportunity to buy some tickets to a really popular show - buy some extra knowing that you can resell them at a profit. Right?

I see these in the local craigslist also. The scalping's not sitting too well with some there either.

I see the thread is old, but I feel like I have to post a reply. I love Yosemite & it is a beautiful park that everyone should be able to enjoy. That's why we have National Parks.

I disagree with reservations system for the parks on many levels too. Posting a message to sell reservations in a National Park & make a profit is shameful (probably illegal too). Given this is not an isolated incident, I hope the moderators of this site will pull any such future post.

I really enjoy this site and the information it provides.
