Wurstfest Rally Nov 8-10, 2013, New Braunfels, TX
Bier, Schnitzel, Spaß!!!
Hey Everyone! It's time to grab your lederhosen and head to New Braunfels, TX where we are going to rally over the second weekend (Nov 8th-10th) for the annual German festival known as Wurstfest.
What is Wurstfest?
Never been to Wurstfest eh? Here's a snippet.
Wurstfest is "A unique celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun located in beautiful New Braunfels, Texas! Enjoy good fun, food, special events and the finest in Alpine and Bavarian Style Entertainment."
If you enjoy sausage, beer, and entertainment (and who doesn't), then this is a can't miss event. There are even carnival rides for the kids!
Where are we staying?
We will be staying at the Rio Raft and Resort. We already have the rally information booked with the campground. Most sites are pull through with full hookups with cable. The park also has WiFi.
Reservation Details:
Rates are $14.50 for 30 amp and additional $4.00 for 50 amp service with 12 trailers in attendance. You can reach the campground at 1-877-RIO-RAFT or 830-964-3613.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
Friday: Arrival. Hot Dog roast provided by Steve and Amy. Bring a side dish if you like.
Saturday: Wurstfest for interested folks (Official hours are 11AM to 1230AM) . Official Wurstfest Schedule. The campground is also right on the river so you can fish or kayak if you like.
Sunday: Breakfast potluck for those interested.
Want to being a non Airstream guest? No problem, just have them call and make reservations for the Best Wurstfest Rally. All spots are first come first served, so make sure you call and save your spot now!

Chris,
We are happy to see you joining us like last year. You make number 12 reserved! The real question is are you baching it in the VW or are you bringing the 27 footer and the family?

Thanks for deciding to join us. Pretty good group turning out this time just like before.
This will be a guaranteed time of food and fun for all. Bring your rod and reels as the weather will be cool, and they release trout right upstream from the campground. Love pecans? There are thousands of them all over the park grounds (which made their way into some tasty pancakes by Mrs. RICHHOG).

Awesome.
Are there any unspoken rules to these things? Should I bring something to contribute to the food etc?

We are providing sausages for friday evening. If you wish to bring a side or dessert to contribe then that would be wonderful. Most of us attending have camped many times together, and it is very laid back..

Awesome. I have a pretty rocking potato salad that goes great with sausage that I'll bring. It has bacon in it and who doesn't love bacon.
