Midwest Rally
Hello fellow airstreamers
Regarding a location for the rally.
I did not camp at Indiana Dunes SP last year. However, unless there has been some major renovations to the campground, I found that the majority of the sites were very small, and the restroom facilities were marginal at best. While the CG is not always full, the park itself and the beach in particular is crowded on weekends.
On the plus side......Indiana State Parks now have a reservation system in place. The fee for a campsite is $23.00.
I vote for late summer for the rally.
Cliff in Indiana
Evansville, that is.

Schedules
Greetings all you hard-working Midwesterners. I would like nothing better than to get together sometime this year and meet some of you. However, as is probably obvious to most everyone, it is extremely difficult to coordinate schedules for anyone who might be interested at such distances. Someone needs to take the point on this project, hammer out some details of when and where and then we'll just have to live with it. As much as I would like to do that myself, there is no way I can so I would suggest someone who might have the time should just speak up and volunteer to be the boss and make it happen. Hopefully, enough people would be interested to make it all worthwhile. Maybe it could even become an annual major event with coverage by CNN.

What about a Midwest Rally?
Greetings Jason!
I just posted a poll regarding dates for a Midwest Rally. Placed a 30-day response time on the poll since time is somewhat of the essence.

John HD,
Fountain Lake RV Park in Almond,WI has a rally-caravan area that will accommodate up to 40 units with fresh water, limited electric and a dump station. They also have a large club house with showers.

p.s.
They're open from May 1st to Sept 30.
They're in Tedra's Airstream Parks Directory and was a A/S only park.
Just thought I'd throw this out to you all.

Midwest Rally
Last year I camped at a State Campground called Moraine View State Park. It is a very nice area with lakes, forest and plenty to do. I would recommend this area!!

Private or Public?
Not knowing the time of year, I think you should only entertain sites with hookups, and if electric is the only hook up available it should be sufficient to run A/C units. If you can't provide that and we get into summer, your attendance will suffer. Especially if you have folks who can't be out in the heat. Private campgrounds may be the only way to insure you have enough services.

Good Call!
Good Call Jack! Fairgrounds or Group areas might be subject to a bit more heat. Some of us have very vintage units, therefore our A/C will consist of the time tested fan and water bottle! A regular campground with trees would be appreciated.

Midwest Rally
There is a region 7 wbcci vintage rally scheduled for July 17-20 2003. It will be located in Waldo, Wisconsin. (Just south and west of Sheboygan.
There is a lot of stuff going on in the area that weekend. We also have a nice place to park.
The fees and information are set and I am working on the details so I can put together a flyer for distribution via email.
If you are interested inrecieving this information, email me at chuckbutler@charter.net

Sounds nice. I'd like to see us try to do this one. My chances of attending are better if we can do something in Illinois or Indiana rather that heading up to Wisc. or Mi.
