Counting the days

Hellooo Ladies of the silver circle! Two weeks from now we'll be kickin' back shootin' the breeze at the Lake. I can't wait!

I checked on the weather in Ojai and it appears to be P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Sunny and between 73 and 80 degrees everyday. Sublime for relaxing and recreating .

Speaking of recreating, I checked into kayak rentals at the lake because my sister (she's joining me one of the days) and I were thinking of maybe expending a little energy while we were there. if anyone is interested, a single is $15.00 per hour and a double is $20.00 per hour.

Cheerio,

Since this is my first Silver Sisters GTG, what is important to bring and plan for?

That's the beauty of the Silver Sister's there is nothing important to bring or plan for. Whatever you want or need is what you bring. We do impromto potluck/happy hour, evening around the campfire ofcourse so a bundle of wood is always appreciated. We just get together and have fun.

just one week to go!

Well said, Julianne!

Myrna, I'm bringing some wood, some munchies to share for a Friday evening happy hour, and my sister and I will whip something up to share at dinnertime on Saturday night too. I'm really looking forward to meeting you (and checking out your trailer too .)

Cheers,

Grebe update

I just phoned Lake Casitas reservations to see what would still be available in Grebe, gonna be a busy weekend there. There are 10 spots open but all the waterfronts are taken. I was thinking maybe I could pull something out my tush and make it up, wing & a prayer type situation. Guess I will have to focus on getting to Coloma in March!

Julianne ~ I hope you can find a way to join us! If it makes a difference, you can park in my waterfront site and Skipper and I will park in whatever other site you can get

I'll be bringing snacks, wine, and firewood.....

That is so nice of you Becky.
I know I should stay home, take care of business but Rex & I both have serious bugs up our butts, itchin to do something! I am planning on going to a knitting/camping thing here in Prescott, AZ in two weeks then I read the "RULES" egads, this women sound uptight. Nothing like you girls and it made me want to come to the Lake even more. But its the less expensive and a close to home alternative plus I haven't been to Prescott yet.
The point being I would so rather be with my Sisters!

Julianne, Please take your spot back and come. My MH can be anywhere and I will just take my chair and park it where most of the food is. I really want to meet you. You can always knit and visit Prescott anytime. In fact I love to knit. I have not heard of camping events & knitting. What is it?

Love how the Pro list is so much longer than the Con. Your trailer doesn't belong there Mere it goes on the Pro list!
Just back from a Sam's club run got beer, wine and champange...can you tell which way I am leaning on this decision making process? All your little finger prints on my back helps

Yahooooooo!!!

Yea for Julianne and Rex! Can't wait to get this party started!

Today I'm making my shopping list and purtying up my trailer. I'm going to try and find the spider that keeps making webs all over the place inside. Wish me luck!

Can't wait to see all you gals and pooches.

Did you say Party? How can I refuse?

Yesterday I made a batch of my peanut butter treats, think Reese's cups but better. Will put them in the freezer for camping perfection.

Checked the weather at the Lake and it looks marvelous. We're back in the 110 range here and frankly it sucks.

Going to call reservations in the morning to see what spot I can score. I think I can get a spot in the row across from y'all, fingers crossed.

That's terrific, Julianne! We'll keep our fingers crossed that you can get close spot so we can perfect our silver circle, but even if you're across the park we're so happy you'll be joining us!

My husband has to work until 10pm on Thursday night and I'm having trouble lining up childcare to be able to leave Thursday afternoon. If I can't work it out I'll be coming Friday as soon as they will let me in! I'll keep you posted.

Hey M what do you know about Caspar Beach Rv Park in Mendocino? Thinking maybe I will stop someplace after the rally, Rex & I need some beach time.
Oh never mind I was thinking Montecito not Mendocino. Where are my glasses?

The vinyl top in my back bedroom just came down..probably from the heat. Can't believe it. Have to see about finding a way to get it back up. Probably won't make it to GTG until Friday.

Mi Amiga Julianne,

Yipee for beach time!!! Don't know anything about Mendicino, but there are some great beachside camping spots near SB. You might try one of these -

Carpinteria State Beach Campground
El Capitan State Beach Campground
Refugio State Beach Campground
Gaviota State Beach Campground
Jalama State Beach Campground

There are also some fun spots near Malibu (Leo Carrillo State Beach is one that I can think of off the top of my head...)

Myrna,

Good luck getting that headliner back up. Hard to see out the back window with that hanging down! We'll be waiting for you on Friday!!
