Sa-weet!

WOw, Laurel, those are great pictures! I'm ready to go tomorrow! I could try roughing it without hookups if that's what the ladies opt for. I'm attaching some pics of the Redondo Vista campground on the south shore from a couple of years ago.

Great snaps thanks for posting them, beautiful spot! I'm all for boondocking. Already imagining pulling up my chair, cocktail in hand to watch that amazing sunset!

Thanks Sistahs. The North Shore has quite a few small "peninsulas" that poke out into the lake.
At that time of year we could probably have one all to ourself for our silver circle.

The McCandless Spring Loop (where the photos were taken) also has a restroom, grassy area, games like horseshoes (BYOHS), water, dump station, etc. There is a little camp store that has everything from groceries to t-shirts but they may or may not be open at that time of year.

Just providing info here...any place North or South would be fine.

If its cool with everyone I will go ahead and post the rally today, stating we will be on the North Shore and boondocking in the McCandless Spring Loop.

All I need is my girls, a drink, and a sunset

I'm up for giving boondocking a try. Especially if we get to bask in the glow of a sunset like that each night...

So looking forward.

Woo AND hoo.
I have gennys too but for just a couple of days we shouldn't even need them.

I can also go a day or two early and maybe meet up with Julianne and confirm our location.
If one loop has squatters, we can move to the right or left a loop or two and get our own.

A word of warning girls...there were "showers" in the restroom but they were primitive at best...kinda prison style and not sure if they were even warm.
So fill your tanks (of all kinds ) before you hit the lake.

Party on the lsa north shore!

I'm planning to arrive a little early too. I need an extra day or two to fully decompress. I think I'll come on Thursday and stay until Sunday.

It's actually been a couple of years since I boondocked, but I'm really liking the idea. I mean, who really needs a hot shower and a hairdryer when they are camping, right? My scary hair-do won't bother me, but you guys might run for the hills when you see me on day 3!...

....just kidding! I think my trailer will hold up fine for a couple of days on battery power. And, if not, I'll hit one of you guys up for your generator. Gotta keep the wine chilled at all costs .

Ciao!

Scary hair? That's what hats are for!

I'll bring a genny and am more than willing to share if anyone needs a charge.

Girls weekend, who cares about scary hair. The main reason I dont leave home with out the genny is hot brewed coffee in the morning, never was able to make a good pot with one of those perculators but think I will pick one up and give it another try. I dont wanna be the one to run a genny in the a.m. and disturb anyone's beauty sleep!

That's great Meredith...I'll show up Thursday as well.
Hopefully others can come early too and we'll get the party started!

Here are a few more shots from last week including the sign at the turn off.
The Lake was pretty low right now but should be much higher in March.

We will be camping at the far end of the loop past the trees and next to the lake.

And just for comparison, here's a shot or two of the North Shore from the spring season.
The first one is shot from inside my trailer.

Yep there is fishing for the fishers among us.
I don't, but my friend caught a few of these right from her chair.

Ahhhhh...life is good.

I am so happy you suggested this location. Much better than an rv park!
