Lake San Antonio

Debra, so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad not too long ago also. My heart goes out to you. I do hope you can come next Spring. You are a VISS (very important silver sister)!

Regarding Lake San Antonio - great idea, Laurel! I have enjoyed every minute of the rallies that I have attended at Lake San Antonio. It's a nice spot with lots of big oak trees and some great campsites where we can circle the wagons nice and tight. But if we camp there, bring your leveling blocks because it's not a level area (I learned the hard way - thank goodness someone had some spares and i didn't have to sleep sideways for three days.)

I can't remember the name of the area where we camped with NorCal, but it does have quite a few spots with full hookups (which I prefer so I don't have to tow my little gray water tank around looking for a spot to dump it.)

Also, if I remember correctly, there are some really beautiful smaller wineries nearby. And, the lake too. We can't go wrong!

Maybe some of us can arrive a day or so early to scare SOB intruders away so we have the whole hillside area to ourselves.

I just luv u guys,

Hi Michelle! We miss you too! Hope it works out for you and kitty to attend. Keep us posted.

I phoned Lake San Antinoio, there are several options. Ronando Vista A loop has 15 sites we can reserve as a group. The other two group areas we need at least 10 trailers to reserve spots, one has full hook ups the other electric & sewer, both are $26.00 per night, back in.

If it's easy to get a group site and no one has to put up any money in advance or do any extra work (egads we wouldn't want that )
that would be okay.

When we went as a group before, we didn't have a group site.
We just all showed up as we could get there and it seemed to work out fine.
Especially if we go off season (as in March ) we shouldn't have too much trouble getting sites together.
And that way we don't have to worry about how many people show up.
A few or forty...it's all good Silver Sistahs!

Deb you MUST come and bring Evie and Dana...and Meredith and Janet and Kristiana and Michelle and Cat and Paula and Virginia and Julianne and Martha and Sandra...and...and...everyone!!!
Woo hoo! Miss you all!

Redondo Vista Campground - loops A, B, C, & D

I went mining on the forums and found the thread from the last (?) NorCal rally at LSA. We camped on the South Shore in the Redondo Vista Campground in the full hookup loops (A, B, C, & D). First come, first serve, but there are lots of sites so, like Laurel said, even late comers can get a site.

Oh, and welcome lvRVing and Chapparel. We're so glad you'll be joining us this year. Our silver sister circle groweth .

Cheers,

Question???????

From what I am reading, all of you ladies are traveling by yourselves. Single ladies?? Married ladies???
How do you manage to travel alone?/
I would be scared to death. Worried about hook-ups - both with the TV to TT, and water, electric, etc.
I'm not sure I could do a trip by myself.

Join us!

Hi Sempi2,

So here's the story. In 2006 a few of us decided to ditch our husbands/boyfriends/significant others and try camping together for a weekend. Some of us were experienced solo travelers, some not. But we encouraged each other to do as much as we felt comfortable doing, even if it meant our spouse had to drive right behind us in another vehicle the entire way to the campground, help us park, unhitch, level, hook-up, and then turn around and drive back home...(okay, that was me .)

To answer your question, we don't have any hard and fast rules, and anyone is invited to join us, but we do try to keep our camp to ladies only in order to encourage our silver sisters to step outside their comfort zone with towing their trailers and/or camping without their significant others. Anyway, there are plenty of Airstream rallies for couples throughout the year, but this is the only one around here that's just for us ladies!

In the past, some gals who were hesitant to take a stab at towing or camping by themselves (or those who have farther to travel) have found creative ways to "hide" their better halves during their stay at the silver sisters camp.

It's all good, and my personal philosophy is that it doesn't matter how you get to the rally, just get there! The silver sisters are an amazing and talented group of ladies - married, single, retired, moms, pilots, artists, tattooed babes, grandmothers, dog lovers, cat lovers, you name it! We are all ages and come from all corners. We eat a lot, drink a little , swap & shop, stitch & bitch (sorry, Kristiana - I had to steal that line from you), and usually find some kind of trouble to get into. But I'll tell you the tattoo story some other day.

Hope you can join us!

You can do it!

Yep. What Meredith said.
Trailering is really not as hard as some people may think.
And at rallies there are always people available to help out if you have a question or forgot something.
Remember the boys/men weren't born knowing what to do either.
Everybody has to learn how to tow and set up camp.
So practice a little at home. Tow a little around town and get comfortable.
Do an overnight camp at a local campground close to home for a trial run.
Bring a girlfriend, sister, or daughter with you if you prefer a co-pilot.
You'll do just fine.
And you'll have lots of Silver Sisters cheering you on.

Debra,
My condolences. You left the Left coast for the mid-west? I hope everything works out for you in KC.

Single, 60,000 miles towing a cat or two for company. Do you have someone who can help you set up the TV and trailer? If so once you get there someone one can help you. That's what it is all about. Just take it easy and relax.
