Spinning my wheels

I have been so gungho getting stuff ready but have hit a wall today, seem to be spinning my wheels getting a whole lotta nodda done. With the exception of making my pre rally plan to stay at Flying Flags in Buellton starting Sunday the 7th - Wednesday morning when I will head to the lake. So if anyone wants to hang out do lunch in say Los Olivos during that time give me a holla.

Let's see, I started working on my packing list, here's what I have so far:

2 bottles of wine (for wine tasting) we still doing that?
1 Box of wine (for drinking)
Pot luck dish (mmm.. still thinking on that)
Fire wood
Camping chairs
Sun screen
Card Games?

Lemme know if I'm leaving something out.

Sounds good to me, but I will be at Fort Stevens, OR for the NW rally. I do think that it would be fun to have a gals trips. I also know that I haven't towed so it will be a challenge. Maybe next year.Hope that you all have a great time,

Making lists & checking them twice

Your list looks good Lianne. Still no idea what I will be cooking either but discovered a great grocerer in Los Olivos while researching online. Looks like I can stock up there. Some lovely cheeses to go with our wine tasting?!

After a quasi lazy weekend of doing stuff around the house I am ready to get back out there and finish up the errands I need to do. First thought when I woke up this morning was GET PROPANE. My last 3 trips were dry camping so I am sure I need it. Wish I could park "Lucy" in front of my house for more than a day or two, would make packing so much easier! I sewed some new pillows this weekend for my cozy little 'sofa'.

Sempi~ Maybe you could practice hitching and towing to and from the NW Rally? I have a 22 ft also, seriously it is a breeze!

I'll bring some firewood too.
And wine.
And maybe Yahtzee.
I'm not much of a cook, so if there's a potluck I might just be sharing a bag of chips....

Now I am craving chips & dip, something I only let myself eat while camping. Bring it on!

No worries Becky I like to cook and since I go to large rallies usually I cook a lot of food. Yes, I use my airstream oven! Make cakes and all sorts of goodies.

Plan is still to leave Arinzona on Saturday and yup I will be ready.....fingers crossed the weather isn't crap.

We are hoping to take the trailer out for an overnighter this weekend, but it is supposed to rain. It was gonna be my practice trip, I was gonna drive, and set up. Hope the weather changes it's mind and we won't have to cancel. I think I will be ok even if I don't get the practice, but still I would feel better about it if I get to do it.

A little rain never hurts...
Our Airstreams are quite cozy inside.

A few of us camped last month at Lake Casitas (near Ojai) and it poured.
But we had a great time anyway!

The good news is that the 10 day forecast for Paso Robles says that next Wednesday and Thursday
when we are arriving are supposed to be sunny and 62 with a low of 44 overnight.

Of course one never knows but so far so good.

Bring your warmies and umbrellas just in case.
Hot chocolate or hot toddies all around...

rain or shine

I'm bringing my patio chaise lounge where I'm going to park my "wagon" for the weekend, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sun SUN SUN.

...but then again, if it does rain I'll have no worries because then I'll just be rotating my wagon from one person's couch to the next all weekend. No biggie!

Laurel, I do have a question about a rain related matter. If (and I do mean IF) it does rain, will it be a problem driving our rigs in mud? Do we have to worry about getting stuck or anything? I just want to be prepared for anything so I don't have to call AAA. I would never hear the end of it from my husband .

Julianne, let me know when you're passing through SB. Hopefully I'll have your sweatpants by then so you'll have to stop and say howdy.

No Rain!

First weekend of Spring, let's not even think rain. We've had two gorgeous days of weather here and I like it.
Managed to get the traila cleaned and for the most part packed. I may be able to scoot out of here on Friday

Hi Meredith et al...

A couple more photos from our prospective camp spot.
These were taken in November of last year and I haven't been there since so I don't know what it is like now.

The first shot is looking back toward where I camped from the water's edge.
The water level was quite low then and has risen considerably (which is a good thing).
The second one is taken from the road where you turn off to go into our camping area.
There shouldn't be much mud as it is more sandy and gravely but I suppose with all the rain we've had, it is possible.
There are "roads" but if it happens to be muddy, we can move back from the water's edge
and camp in the "official" camp sites that you can see in the foreground of the second photo.
It really shouldn't be an issue but we'll let the Wednesday "scouts" make the call for us all.

It's going to be big fun and I can't wait to see you all again!

Cheerios and happy travels all!

piece of cake!

Sounds good, Laurel! Can't wait to see you too. It's been toooooo long.

Thanks for posting the extra pics. It helps to have a better idea of what we're getting into - such a lovely spot! The silver sisters arriving on Wed. will have such fun choosing just the right location for our rally .

Oh, I just I can't wait to sleep in, and flop around all day, and drink lots of good wine, and laugh, and kayak, and to take some great photos and long walks!
