Roger we were so glad to have you and MaryLou and Ryan join us! I met so many new (to me) people at the rally too. It sure was great getting out with the Airstream too.

76 sorry you missed this last rally. As Roger said it was a might cold and windy at times but the people were warm and that's what made us happy campers.

Well said . We really did enjoy the new friends we made.We hope the next time out the weather will be warmer, we already have warm friends. In case you didnt see, We are parked till new axles come. I found several poped rivets in the Axle area, so the axles are shot and the shell it takin the shock. They are on order and will be made in about 6 weeks. Hopefully we will have them installed before August. We would like to get as much use this yr as possible.

It was great seeing you at HamVention also. I guess the joke was on me. Laura never said a word. I thought it was Holley and I just gave her a big hug. Then Laura comes off with"OH Roger this is HILLARY not Holley , I wanted to melt into the floor.I knew there were twins but THOSE ARE TWINS. They are beautiful girls and a joy to be around.U are so lucky to have 3 beautiful girls.
Seems like August is forever, it can't come soon enough for me.
I think MaryLou has already put in for that week off .

Talking Where are most of you from?

Hey Gals!

My Name is Kani i'm 58 1/2 and I was bred and fed here in South west Missouri and have been a radio morning show Co-host and video producer for the past 15 years.

I was just wondering where the majority of you were from? Not that it matters but I was trying to figure out the perfect spot for us to Rally.

My girlrfriends and I have horses and go for 1 week every year for a girls week while our husbands go hunting out of state, so I know how empowering and how much FUN it can be when awesome, indepentant women get together.

As we become brides and then mothers their is a tendency to lose our identity. We consider ourself Billy's Mom or Teds wife. We loose the since of who we were and now who we are.

SO for those of you who are trying to find themselves again or those who have reclaimed themselves this is the sort of Rally women need.

You CAN tow your own trailer!. . .You CAN leave your loved ones for a week and they WILL survive. (and they will probably appreciate you a lot more when you return)

My husband Jack and I are in the middle of a complete overhaul of our (crappy) camper. We like to call it that because we like to here our grand daughter say "I wove owa Cwappy Campo" I am very excited to complete this project. I thought it would take like a month. . .it's been 5 months since we gutted her and we just got the floor laid. (My husband had to ahve a complete hip replacement so he is excused) We have installed the floor and relpace some plumbing with the help of good friends. God bless good friends! Blessings is what they are.

I've been keeping up with your posts about your last rally and saw the awesome pictures you posted (thank you for that).

O.K I got side tracked. . . . The question is "Where are most of you from?

76/Kani
My wife MaryLou and I are from SW Ohio in the Cincinnait area and if you scroll back most are from Michigan and Northern Ohio.
The Womens "We Can Tow It" Rally was our first outing with our Airstream. Sorry U missed it. The weather was cool and windy but the new friends we made were warm and helpful and we had a great time. We are looking forward to meeting those friends again in August at the Detroit-Metro Rally. Come join us in the fun.

Ohio

Hi Kani, Glad to meet you! And welocme! Larry (aka Larrita) and I are from NE Ohio...about 25 mi. sw of Cleveland. We had a grand time at the We Can Tow It rally. This was our second rally. We had one in 2007, called the Summer Solstice. Some of our other silver sisters were from Canada too. You can find alot of us hanging out at the virtual campfire thread on here...called the Silver Sisters Online Rallyhttp://www.airforums.com/forums/f47/...29663-129.html
We are really from all over, but since we are spread out so much we gather here online. Each section of the country seems to be getting together...little by little. I know that gals out west had a rally together this year too.
Hope to meet you down the road. Are you going to the Stars and Stripes rally which is really close to you??? In Missouri at Meremac I believe. You can check out the calendar to find a rally nearby. That is a great place to meet some of the friendly folk that are here.
Lou and Larry...at home in Ohio

I would say we are all over, but I would say a good part is from Michigan, and then Ohio is a close Second I think!

I confess - I am the Cannuck - although not born and bred here I think it would be in order after 40 years that I could call this my home and very proud to be a Canadian. I don't eat moose and I don't live in an Igloo but came real close to it this past winter.

I think the fair answer to your question Kani would be "from our Mothers"

I for one would love to see more Eastern Gals get involved and perhaps there might be a Rally out that way next year.

A Little Thank YOU!

This Rivette Idea was a lot of fun - although I can take credit for blowing the "exclusivity" this past April - Sorry...

But to make up somewhat....today I started and finished working on a "We Can Tow It" Song Although generic it is directed to all those Women out there who have yet to take their first Solo Tow.

My first ever attempt at writing lyrics and even had just enough air in my poor lungs to bellow the lyrics. I was hoping to have a special song on the CD that I gave out at the Rally - but just ran out of time before we left - just never thought I would be remotely able to sing (have lots to learn - so no heckling in the cheap seats)

Entitled - Never Be Afraid

Inspired in part by Carol - who as I post is turning out the miles with her tenacious courage heading out once again Solo across the US.

Also in part - a tribute to all those women I have met here who gave me the encouragement through their posts and emails to push the envelope and travel solo with my LadyBug. While she is still incomplete I can assure you once complete I will be hitting the pavement! to see as many Silver Sisters as I can - Life is too short not too! Which brings me to the next inspiration - Fear! we all experience it in some shape or form - I hope to encourage some to not let fear encroach on your abilities to enjoy life with your Airstream.

I have had a great lot of fun composing music and performing in my own company - so it is nice to share.... I also composed and arranged just an Instrumental version which is in a separate link below....

You can download the MP3 Music file from this secure and safe "file transfer site" over the next 7 days only.

Never Be Afraid - MP3 ©2008

Never Be Afraid Instrumental MP3 ©2008

Here are the Lyrics....

Never Be Afraid

Oh No you never want to be afraid....

We are towing solo
You can do it too
Who is going to follow
The road is yours
Never - Never be afraid

Always look forward to tomorrow
You can be who you want to be
So many paths you can follow
There is no choice, A matter to see

You will fly
Yes you will
Fly - higher than the sky

Never be afraid, oh no
The road is your freedom to Airstream
Always do what you want to do

Oh No You never want to be afraid
Never~Be Afraid

Nowhere is out of bounds
Take the path of head beams
Followed by your Airstream
You Can~Tow It, We know you can.

You are free
Yes you are
Free - Free to Airstream

Never be afraid, oh no
The road is your freedom to Airstream
Always do what you want to Dream

There are lane ways to pursue
Never reasons to be blue
You will always be with your Airstream
Silver wheels turn, turn out the miles

You will shine
Yes you Will
Shine - Shine all around

Never be afraid Oh No
The road is your freedom to Airstream
Always do what you know is true.

Oh No You never want to be afraid
You Never, Never be afraid
Never be afraid
Never be afraid
Never.........

Thanks Rhonda - you are too kind.

oops - I took a listen this morning and had a few little issues that I have since corrected - no sound recording studio here - just a hobby - well not even a hobby really - this song writing and singing thing just came as a whim yesterday....since I cannot get cracking at Polishing the LadyBug I had to do something.

revised Never Be Afraid ©2008

That saying there is a first time for everything could not be truer.....and that goes for all you great gals out there - looking through your window at your Airstream contemplating on taking her out for a spin - You Can Tow It!!!!

You must be still in awe of the Redwings - cause you forgot to say "Don't Quit my Day Job! - or night job if I don't have a Day one - and if I don't have a job (which I don't) to go get one so I don't have to quit it!

and a great big to you my one and only groupy fan club

Okay so Rhonda has had a taste too now...and well poor Carol she has been subject to 100's of "first edition" piano pieces.....

Seriously though Thanks for the kudos Steph

Gosh is it hot and humid your way - cause it is an oven here today!! - I have to get the Hubby onto the outdoor 30 amp plug - so I can at least turn the AC on in the LadyBug Nothing in her so the lawn chairs would go great and she could just be like a summer "Wendy House"

Never really need in the house it sits on a spring so is always nice and cool- Only but a few days a summer is it like this - but then we are at the dock on those days. This year very behind - and dock is damaged from almost floating away with the thaw this year - never rains it pours around here.

Hi,
Could you all fill me in a bit more about the factory tour? Do you get to look at the different models like a showroom? Thanks!
