That is soooooo nice of you to make cling-ons for everyone!! I am hoping to get an Ohio caverns sticker while we are there. I remember when I was little they would put one on your car without asking while you were down in the cave. It used to make my dad SO MAD!!! Isn't it weird the things that stick in your mind! They don't do that anymore.

Jackson Center

I made it to Ohio and spent last night night in the terraport at Jackson Center. The terraport is comprised of several circles offering full hook-up to travelers for the price of 10 dollars a night or free to customers. Saw my first dandelions and butterfly and it got up to 78degrees!!! Might be time to change the Airstream sign specials.

Lots of vans and the terraport. Next Grand Lake Saint Marys...

There has never been anything fair about food. I THINK about food and it goes straight to my hips!!! If I sample everything at the rally I may need to be hoisted back into the truck.

The lights are twinkling across the lake, the waves are lapping and the frogs were in concert but now I hear the pitterpat of rain. Don't forget your hiking boots or you may end up with muddy shoes for the tours. Right now there are quite a few wet areas.

It's pretty here. Before I pulled in, I was off with the camera to scope things out. A woodpecker was hard at work, a heron flew from a tree by the water, a very large goose is on patrol and all the usual birds are here too, robins and sea gulls.

It was an easy drive from Jackson Center to Grand Lake Saint Marys State Park, about 20 miles and seemed like I arrived in no time at all. It's a birder's paradise. The air was filled with song. Grand lake is very large and there are many towns surrounding it. I already have two tips on an observatory with an eagle's nest and heron and the spill water with a great Italian restaurant across from it. They rent bikes here, the low riders, I tried one, felt like a big kid on a big wheel! But I have my folder and there is a bicycle path and playground equipment for Sam. And they also rent canoes here.

I'm in site number 6, the second site from the cabins and across from the washroom, but it's not the shower house. The pictures may give you an idea of the road and the sites in this area. Sites 1-16 run from the cabins and the beach on both sides of the street back toward the entrance, and are all empty now except for me. I haven't checked the rest of the campground yet, and I told the office I may be moving on Thursday when the rally starts depending upon what is decided.

The last picture is the view from my rainy window.

Wi-Fi is working fine and requires your registration number from your receipt you are given to log on. It's not crowded and there is plenty of space available.

C'mon ladies, I'll keep the light on for you!

Roger, I was just going to pm you, actually I did. Sorry the pictures came out so dark, must be the brightness of the LCD last night.

Laura, I will also scope out some other locations and show you when you get here. Perhaps there is a stronger stand of grass and sites in a circle rather than strung in a line. Not like we are going to be sitting inside looking out our windows. It's still raining...

Steph, thanks fo making us signs, you rock girl! I guess I'm an outie rather than an inny. Forum name is good for me.

Sharon, where are you now, NY?

Food and clingies

Hi Steph, I want to put the clingie on the inside facing out. I still have mine from last time. It is a little smudgy, but it is good. Can't wait to see you all!
I am bringing lots of food for you all, but can't make up my mind what it will be for each day just yet. Larry says I always overpack. LOL We spent Thurs., Fri. and Sat. night at camp with SafariNight and b_otto at Delaware SP. It was really nice on Thurs. and Fri. and we has showers on Sat. That was our shake down cruise. I have repacked everything except food and clothing. We only forgot one or two things. Hope the rest of you had a great weekend!
Where are you Sharon??

How far is the shower house from where you are, Carol? Larry and I will need the facilities. Our shower is way tooo little for a whole shower!

thanks for the pics, Carol, the place is beautiful!

I am excited for you all, and most disappointed to miss out on meeting you this time.

Have joined the NEU and learned of their rally at the same time as yours, just about 2.5 hours from my home. Turns out that my cousin's son has his First Holy Communion on that Saturday, so I'll get to join my extended family in this important event!

Enjoy! Look forward to meeting up with you all at some point

Maybe a mini-rally either before or after the Balloon Fiesta in October? That will be our big trip this year, going through Detroit one way and Atlanta the other - haven't decided the order yet, depends on the availabilty of some family members, hubby's work schedule, and stuff.

God bless you all with safe travels and great visiting!
Lynda
