I'm thinking a small group which could then consider planning for a large week long gathering in the Safari field in 2006 would be worth the trip. People could come and go as they please. To do it the same time as the Rocky Mountain Rally might be cool for 2007. How about a forum rally that allows members of WBCCI to attend if they are interested in joining the forum. I like the Penna group's attitude. They are having a rally at the same time as the International, my kind of thinking.

2006 Rally dates to be aware of

I think this is a great idea. I already have NEU rally commitments in September and October this year but will volunteer to help out in other ways. When considering a rally date for 2006, be aware of the following rally's already planned for 2006:

1) NEU Spring Rally, location TBD
May 26-29, 2006

2) Scusset Beach Rally on the Cape
June 15-18, 2006

3) International in Oregon (many vintage trailers will make this trip)
June 28 - July 4, 2006

4) Region One Rally in Rochester, NH
August 14-20, 2006

5) NEU Installation Rally in Wakefield, NH
September 22-24, 2006

Additionally, we should discuss dates with the Vintage Club so our rally date doesn't conflict with 2006 Vintage events.

There will a conflict with some unit on most good weather weekends. If not with the NE unit then with units in Region 2 who I would hope be interested, like WDCU, the PA units, the NY units, ect. Nothing wrong with having a choice and people in other areas having an opportunity. In fact with out some involvement from forum or club members in those areas I don't think an event rally could be done. Where are you NY...

over59, I agree. It looks like we'll never find a weekend that works this year if we have to dance around all the WBCCI events.

Let me put it another way: we're going to be in Watkins Glen the third weekend in September (Sept 16-18). If anyone joins us, it's a Forum Rally. Otherwise, I guess we'll have extra marshmallows!

Didn't you guys just have a business meeting last weekend. I know Charter Oak had one a few weeks ago. You guys are really into wearing those funny hats

See you at the beach...

There are two business meetings held every year....one in the spring and one in the fall. The spring meeting doesn't involve "hats" whereas the fall meeting is the more "formal" of the two meetings (with "hats") as that is when we install the new officers for the next year.

northeast vintage rally?

Just wondering if there's been any more talk about a New England (or northeast) vintage rally. I know that the Cherry Blossom rally is an annual thing, but I was thinking more along the lines of a summertime or holiday weekend rally when families with school age kids could come. Any rumors circulating?

There is a rally planned in July...see my post called "Summer Safari". Vintage trailers are welcome.

We are booked into site 82 at Watkins Glen SP from Sept 15 through 19 (four nights). We want to have plenty of time to see the sights we missed last time!
