Hi Claudia, glad to hear you're coming.
Vernonia is a very quaint small village with various shops and an adaquate grocery store; Teresa can tell you more about the camp ground but I understood her to say we would be 'dry-camping' as we do at Troutlake.

See you next week and travel safe
Carolyn

food

Hi everybody....
Just talked with Teresa (BluePearl) and we thought it would be fun to do an All-American, old fashioned barbecue on Friday night; they will bring their barbecue, Loren and I will bring our small 'silver-stream' one, anyone else who has one, bring it and we will barbecue...... (BYOM).
I will bring chips and watermelon.
Stephanie, I hope this meets with your OK; you know us, always thinking about food!

Darol, lasagna sounds great for Thursday supper; I'll make a salad.

Carolyn

Food.... ahhhhhhh

We will bring something to share for Thursday and Friday evening meals. Beings water will be "shortish" should we bring paper plates and such too? (Besides who wants to do dishes...)

Steph, does all of this work for you? Shall we "wing it" for the other evenings? We will likely stay until the madhouse is over... until Monday.

Teresa, if you have to fork out any $ or anything weird for saving spaces... we will reimburse you if we need to! Thanks for giving this a try! Are we going to be in individual spots or in the group camp? Or, is that yet to be determined?

Claudia

Please, feel free to make your plans. I am bogged down with work, so I'm really slacking off on this one I appreciate all the help I can get! I think this is going to be a great rally and I can't wait to see everyone and relax for a bit!

Yes, there is water in Vernonia Park, We will get to try our hand at a old fashion hand pump. Speaking of food, I'll bring dessert on Thurs. and another main dish since our son and girlfriend will be riding in on their Gold Wing for dinner. Toughening up the back side for a trip down 101 to L.A. We also have a med size bbq for cooking. What about wood? We'll bring 3 or 4 costco bags full of building scraps, it makes a nice hot fire.

'it's a good thing'.....food and fun

Teresa, you had mentioned (phone) bringing a potato salad for the 4th....if you should decide to do something different, I'll do one.....the Italian way
It's good to know there's water available...that is a good thing

Steph, thanks; just come and relax; there's enough of us "alpha" people to bring it together; we always have a good time....esp. w/out structure. We're glad you set this up and got it going!

I just booked the group camp area, $100.00 for 3 nights and we can put as many trailers in the area as we want. Now we know we will have enough campsites for everyone. Caroline, go ahead and make your potato salad as I won't have the boy's to complain about not having MOM's potato salad.

Teresa,

Thanks for booking the group area! I guess we can all pitch in to come up with $100 ~ that is a good price! What 3 nights did you book? 3, 4, 5?

Fantastic news! Now we don't have to hope there's no problem with holding spots - thanks so much for doing that!

Hi All,
sorry for no communication so far. Been pretty busy lately. We were planning on arriving Friday afternoon, as soon as we get supplies for the weekend and depart Sunday. Leslie would like to make her baked beans for the BBQ. We can bring some sausages as well. Is there anything else that is needed that we can bring? Is Saturday DIY or another group feed?
Thanks for booking the group site! Is this a boondocking type of group camp?
Is anyone going over the Scappoose-Vernonia road? Is it ok to pull a trailer on it?
I see they will have a parade and fireworks. I wonder if we will see them from the campground?
Looking forward to the event!
Frank

I booked the 3,4,&5th. I know, that is a great price, I even asked if that was right and they said yes. If we have 4 trailers for 3 days we are ahead. I think we can put 7 or 8 trailers maybe more in the space.
The Scappoose-Vernonia is just find, just don't expect to go 55, and you should be find, just a little twisty.

I think we are planning the food thing when we get to camp, Like Steph (our leader )said this event is really laid back.

Guess it's time to start thinking about packing up, we've had a hectic week and now that it's behind us it's time for a little R&R. We are heading out Wed afternoon, a little ahead of everyone. Planning on staying thru Saturday. I'm surprised you were able to book the group site so late, very nice.

Teresa,

As you are the resident "expert" ~

Are there showers anywhere nearby this camping area?

Claudia
