I haven't hosted a rally in a while, so this will be low-key, with not a whole lot of planned events - but I think we're all qualified to make our own fun

I'm thinking a potluck or other group dinner, maybe a 3-D slideshow - if we know anyone who does that sort of thing...

We'll spend the week at airport park, starting Friday June 27th-July6th. It will give me time to work on the 3-D show, a deadline is always good to have. We are excited to show everyone our favorite camping spot. Bring bikes, golf clubs, fishing poles if you want , Vernonia has it all. They have a good grocery store in Vernonia so no need to stock up on supplies, it will make potlucks easy, we can decide on a meal and go get the supplies.

Just a cautionary question - wasn't Vernonia in the news this past winter for some horrible flooding? Assume you've spoken to someone in town to be assured that the CG area is ok.

We may toss our hats in the rally ring as we've never attended one. Yeah, there's a good reason - we aren't due to be AS owners until we pick up our rig this coming week.

You don't have to camp in your A/S

When we attended our first forum rally our Bambi was literally in pieces... but we camped in our 1946 Teardrop and were welcomed nicely! So... if your rig is in for changes, etc. you can still come and even tent camp!

The campground is in perfect shape, I'm sure it flooded as we saw some debris in tree's at about 5 ft, but they cleaned it up and regraveled the road and it is a very nice rustic campgroud.

Claudia, tell us about your new airstream, pictures please.

Alcohol prohibited?

Just read over the Park regulations and found this regarding alcohol use. I wouldn't want the NW Airstreamers thrown out of a rally on such a seldom seen occurence amongst our rally group!

Alcohol Use
It shall be unlawful for any person to consume alcohol, to possess an open container holding alcohol, or to open a container holding alcohol while in any park, except pursuant to a Group Facility Alcohol Permit issued by the City and in accordance with terms and conditions attached to such permit. This permit MUST be kept and maintained at all times in the possession of the person to whom it is issued, it is NOT transferable, it is NOT Refundable, and may be issued only to a person who is at least 21 years of age.
___________________________________

Not that this affects everyone, but I've seen a beer or wine bottle or two at some of our rallys in the past !

Does this mean that someone must get a permit for the group?

Maybe someone could give them a call and ask. I can't imagine there's no alcohol allowed at a campground, but I guess it's possible. We don't drink so it doesn't effect us either way.

Barley soda ?

We have not had any problems with Glenn's cup of coffeeor my soda all the years we have been to Vernonia's campground. I'm sure this is for wild parties and the only time I've seen a wild forum party there has been no alcohal or drugs , well maybe prescription I think we will be OK

Hope there is room for one more, we're rally new (sorry) as this will be our first. I see there is golf across the way so I'll be bringing my sticks if anyone is up for a round. Looking forward to it.
