Me too! Can you let us know where it is? I'm pretty interested myself for the family.

Air, nice map, I didn't see that one. Yes, it is right in the middle of AX men, on the bike trail that goes from Vernonia to Banks, which is a state park trail, goes right by a logging operations. Last year we stopped along the trail and watched them fall trees and haul them up the hill, very interesting as to where our tp and lumber come from.
Steph, The airport park is about 3 miles from town so the fireworks shouldn't be too loud for Alkie, Lucy is the same way, she's shaking and hiding in our arms the whole time.
Vernonia, Oregon is in the middle of the n.w. corner of Oregon. From Portland take hwy 26 west to hwy 47 and follow to Vernonia, appox 15 miles. You will turn left about 3 miles before Vernonia at the sign that says Golf course, Airport Park, go a mile and turn right at Airport park. Easy to find even at 11pm 3m75 Argy. You can also come from St. Helens but that road is a S curve nightmare.
If a few of us get there early we can snag quite a few sites. We saw it on labor day last year and it only had 3 sites occupied.

Why don't you all come a little further North into BC? July 1st is the busy weekend here, so you should be able to find camping for July 4th. And no fireworks to worry Alki!

Actually leave the country to avoid the fireworks, now that's an idea I can get behind! Actually we LOVE BC and haven't been able to get up there with the trailer yet, that would be a fun trip.

We LOVE the Vernonia area....quiet, quaint, and beautiful.

We, like Glenn and Teresa, can be there early to hold sites.

Steph, Going north to B.C. sounds like fun, but we are going to make this a commuting holiday. We'll have to make a couple trips home during the weekend so the 50 mile commute to Vernonia is perfect.

Shoot, we'll be in Bozeman July 4, or we'd be greatly interested. As Janet mentioned, however, the Bluegrass and Dutch Oven Rendesvous at Sacajawea Park is a great camping spot and a real fun festival. Not only is there music everywhere, but learning to cook over coals in a cast iron pot is a real hoot--and tasty. The park is at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers, so lots of boating, fishing around, too. Bluegrass and good food, what's not to like? We'll be there. Jim and Nancy in the Culvert
