Virginia - Fort Monroe (Hampton VA) Informal get together Fall 2017?

I'm surprised.

I went wandering today and decided to visit old Fort Monroe (deactivated 2011) and after drooling over the Tiffany stained glass windows in the chapel I took a side road and saw RVs. Found a Small new RV park (15 full + 10 water and electric sites.) Hot and humid now but great in Sept.&Oct. Chesapeake bay on 3 sides, history and a fort that still shows what graduating from West Point used to get an officer.

Nothing big in my plans - one pot luck and maybe an open house..
There is a club/bar within walking distance and Williamsburg/Busch Gardens 45 minutes away. Watching a.bunch of day campers playing a lively game of Corn Hole (bean bag toss in 1950's reality).

Got a call back from the park. W/E only is $45 per night, full hookup 54. Owner isnt available intil tomorrow and I might be able to get a better rate. Will call her tomorrow. Last week in Sept. Or weekend starting Fri. Oct. 13 are available.

Hi Paula, Pete and I may still be around. Sold our house so full time now. Will be in Fredricksburg most of the summer and plan to hit the road in the fall. It may just work. Mark us down as interested.

Hey Paula, we have not seen you for over a year or so, hope all is well.
Sounds like a good idea, but for us it would have to be late Oct (3ed or 4th week). Will be traveling until mid Oct.

I have already committed to Eatin' Rabbits (Eaton Rapids Mich.) Sept 14 17 Urban Air.

Waiting to talk to camp manager (dept of interior still owns the land). Exploring all alternatives even daisy chaining water and electric. No matter what it will be a small group at this location.

I would be interested in a trip close by. I am also in Fredericksburg and about to start my fulltime life. I will get my trailer in August and spend a month near my recently sold home (actually near my storage unit) prepping and learning before I head away from my family and my tools.
