Does anyone know if Sugar Creek is too low to canoe? We were thinking of bringing ours, but I just checked the water levels online and they seem pretty shallow. I guess I could call an outfitter over there and see if they are still canoeing.

I talked to 3 places and got two different answers and a non-committal answer.
Turkey Run Park Rangers - quote "the water is very, very, very low." No, we don't monitor the water level.
Sugar Valley Outfitters - we are still canoeing, but yes the water level is very low right now, but it's normal for this time of year.
Clements Outfitters - has closed 4 of their 5 trips including the one that goes through Turkey Run.
I guess I got my answer - too low to canoe without lots of walking in shallow water.
See y'all on Friday!!

Sounds like the black river at the end of summer. More dragging than paddling = not much fun.
Putting the final items on the grocery list. Last major chore.

If you see a 29 ft. 1974 Airstream towed by a gray Toyota Tundra heading east towards St. Louis (St. Charles/St. Peters), that could be maccamper on his way to a BBQ competition.
Travel safe and enjoy the weekend everyone. Great campfire weather!

Thanks!!!
We had a great time!!! Thanks to all for making it a wonderful weekend…
Alice and Roger – such awesome hosts, great tips for the new trailer campers & advice for cooking in the dutch oven!
Steve – tasty apple pie, great photography and awesome campfires!
Duncan– warm and fuzzy evening entertainment and #1 bowl cleaner!
Al – wonderful company – fun stories and a great turkey!
Kelly – yummy dinner treats, “farm” education and such a cute trailer!
Don & Lana – wonderful cobbler and ice cream (thanks for sharing) and we really appreciated the use of your tarp!
It really does seem like it’s all about the food.
We were really excited that our trailer did not leak since we sealed it ourselves. One never knows until the rain gives one a test.
Thanks again!!!
Tina
