Thirteenth Annual Christmas in Blanco State Park - 2015

Hey Gang. OK, the silent auction has morphed into a raffle drawing to make the ease of administration easier on everyone. We will sell raffle tickets, and then just do a drawing for the various donated items. So far we have about half a dozen items, including a completely restored 1962 Airstream Overlander 26 foot (JUST KIDDING!!!!!!), and a just-used-twice "stinky slinky" (REALLY JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!).

Seriously, any donated items will be greatly appreciated. The proceeds are going to the Friends of Blanco State Park to assist in their flood restoration efforts.

Outright cash donations are fine as well.

As I understand it, we will do the drawing Saturday evening after we all get back from the parade. I think some light refreshments & cookies are in the works.

...there are even more things going on this year in Blanco during our rally.
On Saturday there WILL be Market Days, in the morning around the old Courthouse, also there is a 5K Beer Run from our favorite Brew Masters here's the flyer for it., so if you are a" RUNNER" you may want to add this to your weekend plans..... if you do not want to walk 5 K we should be able to watch the runners from town or along the Blanco River....

This is event #6 in the Run in Texas 5K Six Pack Series. Starts and finishes at the very cool, very hip Real Ale Brewing Co. The course runs south through downtown Blanco, by the Blanco River and back to the brewery. One water stop at the 1.5 mile point will be manned by a local non profit. After cooling off, runners can hit the tasting room where they will recieve a finisher glass and up to 4 x 8oz tastings. More cool things you can expect are:

• Brewery Tours!
• Stroller friendly course!
• Dog friendly! (must obey leash laws and pick up after fifi or fido)
• Food Trucks!
• Music!

Blanco's Lighted Christmas Parade.

Parade begins at the Blanco High School and will come through the Old Blanco County Courthouse Square. Please note that no candy or trinkets are thrown at this parade due to the darkness and potential safety concerns.what no candy!!!!!!!!!!!

We may rent the big place for Friday nights Potluck, there is a big fireplace there so if anyone wants to bring some firewood ?
ohhh we are getting close, I hear there will be several Airstream Motorhomes this year I plan to be in one of them

Good news....Bad news.......Diane and I are closing on a house today.......Good news.

The bad is that the week of vacation I was taking to spend at the Blanco Rally will have to be spent fixing up, cleaning up and gearing up for our move.

So....I will be canceling our reservations at Blanco State Park from Dec 6 thru Dec 12, a total of 8 nights.

I will cancel the reservations this afternoon after our closing. Estimate release of reservations will be 3:00 pm.

I will miss seeing the group and hope to make it next year.

The group shelter (I can't spell pavilion) is now reserved for us on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Feel free to bring fire wood, we have electric plugs for all that yummy food for Friday night pot luck, frig and sink for cleanup. David will have lists of the items to be in the raffle and will be selling the raffle tickets. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We plan to arrive around 5pm. What time is the potluck? Do we sign up for a particular dish or is it more of a free for all?

Catstream is donating a custom made Santa hat. The plan is to auction it off Friday evening, in addition to the raffle. Auction winner gets to wear the hat and ride in the parade!!!!!!!!
