Steve,

I'm going to invite my neighbor again. She's the one that came with her boys last time. I doubt they'll stay overnight but I wouldn't be surprised if they come for a day.

Sure Lynn, sounds great. I was going to do it Saturday sometime if we did it.

Frenchy, did you want to bring Jamba on Friday or Saturday?

Steve

Sitting at Discount Tire waiting to get a. Replacement next to the one I had a blowout on last summer in California. Taking no chances as this one was flat after being on storage. Steve knows the story well.

Well that is your choice Frenchy...we are having pot luck dinner on both nights.

Rich, I told you that your tire was getting low last time we went camping. Better safe than sorry. We spent several hours at the trailer today cleaning, and moping up from the mega rainstorms we have gotten over the past few days. Flooding is rampant all over Fort Sam Houston, but the trailer was safe. I installed a few latch magnets on cabinets, and a new battery disconnect. Will be going back tomorrow to work on the plumbing vents since they seem to be the main culprits letting water in other than the front and back windows.

Steve

I really am sorry to rain on your rally, but had you noticed the misspelling on the laser-engraved plate? The editor in me can't let it pass....

No, I think he means that Airforums is misspelled in the plate.

It's amazing that a man with MD and DDS behind his name can make a mistake like this after he printed the shirts and carved the cutting boards correctly, but we are all human. Fortunately he is a great guy and already has them reprinted to give to me on Tuesday.

Indeed it is true. It isn't like MS Word that has the red squiggly under a misspelled word.

My buddy emailed me back, "No big deal. I goofed when I re-did the text to have it in the shape of an Airstream". No response from him on how the text looks like an Airstream other than the curves! Bill pulls up the rally thread when we are working together so he can see input on the stuff. He plans to bring one of his mid 50's vintage cars to the event baring a switch in the call schedule.

I called the park today today to see how the rain has effected the park and river. They report that the water is a few feet below the top of the old bridge showing in this picture.

Jim said they were not running any river operations (shuttling, or rentals), but that some brave folks were getting on the river on their own. He feels that the water will be much receded by next weekend, but should give us a better flow than previous years. In case anyone is worried about the actual camping area, it is much higher than the river, and up a steep hill.

Yeah, the local Guadalupe is really movin right now. The inaugural run in the new kayak was supposed to be yesterday. I'll have to wait a few days for the water to go down. That's good news for San Marcos. Toob'n is no fun when your butt is dragging on the rocks.
