Hi all, So far I have 6 attendees.
Janet/Gary
Acgypsy
L&C Woggie
Norcal Bambi/Caddygrn
Greatpumpkin
CJohnson

I will be making the reservations on Monday now as I got involved in a huge project on Friday and missed the deadline. My pickup truck is now ready for action though.

Don't forget to sign up on the Rally Calendar !

Thinking of a Potluck type of Dinner on Saturday night. I'll be making a pot roast. It seems like a good hearty meal for early spring camping.

There are no other plans made at this point.

Chris - would it be correct to assume that you are talking about the gathering at Wallowa State Park?

We were going to try to get our first trip of the year this coming week in but snow and cold wx is likely going to get us to change our minds.

Hi Bill, Yes you are correct. But it is in late April, so snow may very well not be a factor. Let me know if you would like to join us. We'd be glad to have ya.

Chris, Or anyone who knows!

Question on the roads to travel to Wallowa Lake. We've been looking at "shortest" route from our place. Looks like 97 up to 28 and then over 7 a bit past John Day... to Baker. Then up 84 to La Grande and around the loop to Wallowa Lake. How is Hwy 7 at this time of year? Or is their a better route? All suggestions welcome!

We will likely make a 1 or 2 night travel trip getting there. Depends on our whim... around 600 miles from here one way give or take a little.

Thanks in advance!
Claudia

Chris, Sorry, we won't be able to make this rally, love that campground, and the deer. Still thinking about the Steen's.

Reservations are made

The reservations are made. They are reserved for Friday night and Saturday night. I have 2 extra sites. A-4 and A-5 are taken and A-1 is on hold. After the sites I have reserved are taken you will need to make your own reservations or just show up. I doubt the campground will be full.

Don/Claudia - A-7 is kinda short. Do you mind taking that one ?

All others are fair game !

Dang it seems soo far away !

Did I mention, I have 2 extra sites ?

All this talk about rallys caused me to go out and clean up the trailer, get some water in it and test everything out. Changed out a bad light switch in the bathroom that bugged me all last season. Oiled the cutting board. Sat around inside and read an ASLife mag for a bit. Now we just need to hook up and go! Wish we could make it to Wallowa Lake. Maybe I'll ask (beg) Dave again later...

Hi Claudia, I suggest you take US 97 to OR 126 to US 26 to US 395. From there you have a couple choices. You can take US 395 all the way to the freeway and head east on I 84 to LaGrande (Exit 261) OR in Ukiah take OR 244 (State HWY) to I 84 East to LaGrande. There are a few reasons I suggest OR 244. You don't have to climb Battle Mountain on 395 and you don't have to climb Cabbage Hill and Spring Creek on I 84. You will save miles. When you get to I 84 you'll only be 9 miles from your exit. If you go to Baker you will have to back track 50+ miles to your exit in LaGrande. Unless you want to go to Baker. I hear both roads OR 7 and OR 244 are very beautiful drives. One just takes more time than the other for you.

There are a few State Parks outside of Prineville. They are a bit more than halfway and I have never been to any of them so I can't reccomend any.

They are Prineville Reservoir State park. Ochoco State Park and Ochoco Lake State Park . Tumalo State park is just outside of Bend too. You could overnight in an RV park someplace as well.

As the time gets closer check tripcheck.com for road reports or dial 511

I hope this Helps !

Good luck !

I PM'd Darol. I don't know if he is up for travelling but I wanted him to know he is invited.
