5. Ice

Of course if folks at the rally this year are anything like the ones at last year's, any effort you put forth will be greatly appreciated....
Bread, chips, condiments, cups, paper plates, plastic utensils, I can do that. Ice, not so much. If you've never seen the inside of an Interstate, you'd be surprised at how little room there is inside for an ice chest once you've packed the other stuff.

Also Protagonist, we are originally from La. I was born in River Ridge, back then it was just between Kenner & Harahan, off of Jefferson hwy. Both of us raised around Breaux Bridge.
My coworkers insist that open-and-heat is not cooking. Maybe that's a Louisiana thing. Anyway, I'll probably do as Goal15 suggests and bring the accessories.

My boss lives in River Ridge. It's still right where you left it, keeping Harahan and Kenner from bumping into each other. MY Garmin GPS refuses to recognize a community called River Ridge, though; it shows up as part of New Orleans, even though it isn't really.

Not as familiar with the area around Breaux Bridge, but I've been there a few times for work.

Count us in. I reserved site 71 this morning. We haven't got the school/ballet/soccer/band schedule completely yet (yay for middle and junior high kids) but I think at worse case it may be a guys weekend for my son and I. We'll be coming from Ruston after school, so it'll be probably six to eight at night before we get there.

I currently have no plumbing and no kitchen in my camper, but I do have a grill/smoker and have no fears about throwing anything on it. It may be a good time to try some smoked turkey.

I've got plenty of room for ice chests, we can bring a couple chests of just ice if need be.

Lemme know what needs to happen. Now, I have to find be a rally in December.....

I haven't decided if I want to go solo to this rally. Dr. David is on an ICU rotation in November, so he will definitely not be able to attend.

I've been following the discussion since it was first mentioned, and hopefully I'll be able to come but I'm sure yet.

I always camp solo, by both necessity and preference, so you won't be the only one.

Heh... I've been to several Airstream events without my partner, usually because he can't get away. If he's likely to be working long hours the whole time, I'll probably end up going, but if he has a day off during the rally I'll probably stay home, I hate to waste those.

Looks like a good time. Would be impossible for us to arrive in daylight in order to set up with the work schedule and the drive to Houston. Will keep it in mind if things change!

We did that last year. Got hung up at the office and didn't get out of Houston until late afternoon. Pulled-in in the dark and must've had 6 people come over with flashlights and help me setup. Fastest I've ever gotten setup.

Everyone wanted to ask you whether or not your shower was draining.
