Being that it is my first Blanco and that I am going stag, I think I'll just observe all this stuff since I don't have the foggiest idea of what will be going on other than a dirty santa game that can become very "intense" is the word i will use.

Bruce, I am ready! Tenth annual has to be a biggie!
Steve, no worries about coming stag, except perhaps bringing Collin as the nights get late...some of us grownups tend to forget our filters later in the evening (if we had filters to begin with!)
Frank and Mike: boo hiss, you NEED to be in the park! Will they let you share our space?

Yumm!! From Pecan Street in Johnson City? 512? Blanco? Please enlighten me!
I'd love to get the A/S down that way about that time. Anybody have a good covered storage spot for December-May in the Hill Country?

[QUOTE="CatStream"]LOL!
not sure I understand the Theme I am supposed to decorate my Flamingo like my Dead GrandMother? Do I need the Airstream or is that implied?
Or will there be one big Airstream who has just smashed up the Grannies???[/
Decorate your flamingo any way you choose!! That's just our theme for the rally!! You know the tune, "grandma got run over by a reindeer". And of course there will be singing!!!!

Steve, if you can collaborate with RichHog on a trans siberian orchestra level light show for your trailers, then you understand the Spirit of these events.
Just don't park next to me if you are going to leave that light show on all night.

Funny you mention that as I just bought tickets on Saturday for the 3PM showing on 22 December here in S.A. I think Rich Hog should put on a great laser show as long as he can get a spot in the park to camp!

Real Ale is the brewery. And they are located in Blanco. I just have to call a local Spirits store in Blanco in advance. They will have it waiting.

Here is the link to the sign up sheet - Airstream Forums - Tenth Annual Blanco State Park Christmas Rally
(I don't) know why it didn't turn blue - but copy from the http to the end and put into your browser. Then us know how many are coming and where you are staying.
You can also go to the airstream calendar and you'll find the Rally dates already added - click and enter the same info.
Let me know if you have a problem.

EEEEEEEEEJKKKKKKK - oh that's the sound of grandma getting runned over

Ummm, yes and you will be sitting in the passenger seat of that Big Big Airstream.
I think all the decorated Flamingo's will be placed on the bridge and we get to drive over them...several times with Dennis hiding under the bridge making EEEEEEEEEEEEEJKKKKKKK sounds.

It's absolutely POURING in Blanco right now. Let us hope that we have much better weather this December than there is right now!

Don't have a reservation yet but plan on coming. Hope to slide in a spot if one opens. It'd be a long ways to go to the Settlement house to watch the Laser Spectacular

Be the rain
Be The Rain, I didn't know we had home movies from the rally last year, was that really Neal Young who sang, I just thought it was one of Pahaska's musician friends, didn't I see him in the backgroud with his Banjo??
Be sure to let the song play for the whole 10 minutes it really puts you in the right Zone for this annual Rally!
We've had Rain , and Sunshine and Ice Storms and Heat Waves, and all in the same weekend and trust me It DID NOT SLOW us down one bit!
THE Whole Point is to Celebrate Christmas IN Nature, with as many modern conviences as we can cram in to our Long Long Trailers, Plug them in at the Camp Site, Light them up with 100's of Christmas Lights and annimated Reindeer and then go shopping till it's time to eat, play games and Get Presents!!! what's a little rain between friends?

Lots of info in this thread about the 10th annual Blanco Christmas Rally, as well as doing a search of the 9 others before. The rules are non existing, the highlight is the Saturday evening Dirty Santa gift exchange, which has a history of bringing out irrational behavior in the participants. There is a flamingo decorating contest as well as a camp site decorating competition, with prizes that will make you the envy of the "Wally Byam Around the World Caravan Participants" .
As a preview, I took a top secret picture of a small section of one of the prizes...

About 12 hours normal driving, but you'll have to add time for towing a trailer.
