Surfing, Kayaking, Mtn Biking Rally or Caravan?
Would anyone be interested in a Rally and/or Caravan that included surfing, kayaking, mtn biking (any other outdoor sports)? I would love to put together an Airstream group if there is any interest. We are planning on going many excursions in our Airstream to do these kind of trips and would love it if we could include more people and "rally".

Interested! yes! It would have to be during the winter though. I have no time off May-November.

Winter is generally the best time to surf on the west coast anyway. Bigger waves, less/no fog. I love winter time at the beach, starting in about October.

Sound like a great idea. Just pick a date and place and people will show.

Great!!! Sounds like winter is, so far, everyone's (all 3!) preferred time. Would anyone be interested in any stops in Baja as well or only Cali.

Does any one know about Salt Point State Beach, just above Bodega Bay. My family and I are going there this weekend. If it's nice maybe we can set up a Rally there? Or even at Writes Beach or even further up towards Fort Bragg at Van Damme State Beach, which I know is nice.

I love Bodega Bay! That would be terrific. We just went to Fort Bragg and Mendocino (use to live there) with the AS two weeks ago.
Maybe as we get more on board we should take an informal vote on places to go. Perhaps we should start a forums "community....

That sounds ok. Do we want to do a beach trip on a Sierra trip? My wife and I are taking about going to Death Valley late in October. Great time to go. Just throwing some ideas out there.

That sounds fun. We could do a series of rallies... that is my hope. how long is your Death Valley trip? Could it include a couple of Rally stops maybe?

Death Valley
It's still in the works. But it will consist of about 9 days. We will make this our base camp. There is so much to do and see, 9 days is never enough. I will post here once we figure things out.

I live here and only surf but Humboldt County has a lot to offer. Again, winter is the best time for surf. There are 2 really good breaks right at the Patrick's Point State Park campground. Good rivers and biking trails within a reasonable distance. I could be your water guide anytime you get this way. Jamie

The only problem with surfing N CA waters is the temp. You need at least 5mil wetsuit to stay warm. Duck diving becomes like ice cream head aches.
But on the other hand, fishing is great up there.

It may be cold, but we don't have to worry about sun exposure while in the water. Heck, we don't have to worry about sun exposure out of the water most of the time... J

Hi Turtle,
we (Roman really) would love that. I paddle, get cold, want to go in and blow water out my nose... that is how I "surf". I am more of the "support" crew.
So, I'll start to comprise a list of everyone who is interested and then we can start planning. anyone have absolutely would not work dates in the future?
