Asheville - We love Mt. Pisgah on the Blueridge Parkway. You have to put up with dry camping but the location is outstanding and the food at the Inn is well worth it.
Be sure to go to Dupont State Park to see the waterfalls. Pisgah Forest has many beautiful spots too. Cedar Mountain is the site of Pretty Place=a breath taking viewing spot. I used to live in the area and have never camped but if you have other questions PM me. Have a nice trip!
Alan,
Your in our backyard!!!! Cascade Lake is where you want to go. and go again...and again. If you check out the PCC site we have several pics from Cascade, take your canoe, kayak and let us know when your there. I'm doing golf construction in A'ville so I'm up and down that road almost daily.

It looks like the planet and stars have aligned correctly so we are heading to Hiawassee unless something changes. We have only been to the Can Opener rallies so please be gentle .
Hi all: You'll pardon me for not reading all 15 pages of this discussion (congrats, though...a well discussed rally means a good rally!) to find this, but is there a "section" of campsites that you're looking to gather in? I'm comtemplating attending and I don't want to be on the other side of the campground from everyone else. I see a lot of B and C sites being posted as reserved so I assume you're pushing for Area 2, north end lakeside?
