Alan, The NEW Excella looks great. I am looking forward to seeing it in Hiawassee. The touches you add to the trailer will put "your" mark on it. It will be another "classic" I am sure. Best of luck to you.

Surf's up

We drove through Hiawassee earlier today, and Lake Chatuge is up significantly in water level - looks like we'll have good water for boating.

Alan - great looking new rig!

Nice find and capture!

Would one of the tweeks be an electric tongue jack?

I see what Sugarfoot means about the blue stripe...I missed that detail/indiscretion in my first and second viewing. It looks as though it's just painted on though. I will have to look up (search for) the "aircraft stripper" that you refer to.

For the Friday evening party/jams, will you have the PA there? Looking forward to the rally!

P.A. is a yes for Friday night.

Spent yesterday putting back all the stuff that we stored from the wreck of the Soveriegn. Cleaned the inside of the Excella and loaded it up with our personal items. It sure does swallow a lot of things...great storage.

Put a thick coat of Removall on the blue stripe...waited 4+ hours and pressure washed. It took half a dozen very small areas down to the aluminum, the rest is as blue as before. Looks like aircraft stripper is on my agenda.

Whats funny is when I walked around the trailer at first I could not see the long line of some kind of tar stuff on the roof that must have been used to hold down an awning, its right behind the awning rail. From upstairs in my house I spotted it and now will have to figure how to get that think gunk off.
At least its not obvious from ground level!
Plugged in the shore power, and found out yes I do have a univolt. Guess I will be putting the Intellipower in this week.

We will be putting curtains, and flooring on the back burner for a little while as we have a lot going on before Springstream.

I have some nice flea market itmes to bring up to the rally though.

Congratulations on the new to you Excella. You should get many miles of joy from this one...as long as the tornadoes stay out of your neighborhood. Good luck with the tweaks and enjoy the Springstream. Maybe we'll be able to make next year's.

Blue Stripe !!

The blues stripe saga goes on. I tried Removall, it di not touch it. Went and got two cans of Aircraft Stripper, it barely got the blue off, and then there is green underneath it. Yikes.
Now I have a new plan......if you can't strip it......

Alan, personally, I think it is really cool that upon hearing of your situation that the Blue Man Group offered to sell you their Airstream! What a tight community we live in - sharing the love. Those guys are great - glad you could hook up!

In the category of adding a touch of class, my wife tells me we have two pink flamingo night lights for raffle prizes. It doesn't get much classier than that - you'll be the envy of, well, not that much.

And I can't wait for the fried glutens. Or was that glutton - or mutton... Either way, I'm not eating the week before...

And on that note (what note?), I was looking in the dictionary and came upon "gluon" - a massless particle that binds quarks together. Alan, see if you can find some de-gluon spray - I think that blue paint will come right off. As I am sure you are all aware (duh), a quark is a hypothetical particle. I guess the term "quark for brains" was not a term of endearment after all...

OK, gotta run - time to take my meds!

Alan, since you found green underneath, you know what you got...a stripe that matches your roadside awnings! What is it you call a happy accident?

Brad, I knew you were a bit quarky..or is the kwerky? Querky? Who knows.
I actually got my trailer from SMURF central. Remember the little blue guys?

And the green under the blue is now kind of a mix of blue, green, silver and yuck.
I have a whole new plan for this thing...its called aluminum paint. Got 5 cans last night and 4 rolls of blue tape.
Meanwhile Shannon is loving ( not) the fact that all the curtains she made for the Sovereign don't fit the wider windows in the Excella. So new plan for her too.

Well, I see your point on the blue paint. Maybe the green was originally to go with the awnings and the PO got tired of it or decided to go with the Excella color scheme and just didn't get the right shade of blue. Or maybe he was frightened by Papa Smurf as a child!

Alan,

I believe Phil and/or Sue started this list in a previous post, but it seems to have lost momentum. So, here is what I think has been posted thus far, with our additions. If everyone would like to add to the list, just copy and paste....

Friday night wine & cocktail party? Yeah!

Sat Raffle donations:
Flamingo shower curtain: Phil and/or Sue
Wine: Chief

Sat Brunch:
Vienna Sausage Casserole: Klattu
Waffles and syrup: Phil and/or Sue
Pancakes and griddle: Alan
Pecans for pancakes/griddles: Empresley
Sausage patties: Chief

Sat Potluck Dinner:
Fried Rice and cucumber Kimchi: Chief

Everyone dig out those fine recipes that we know you have, and start planning.......the Potluck at Canopener '08 set a high standard.

Chief
