Thanks I will pray for tha latter. As fpr Springstream I am not giving up the site just yet, but it may be a wash out for us. I just couldn't do it without my own Airstream...

I understand how you feel about having your own Airstream to stay in. Although if my Sovereign is still available, you are most welcome to use her. She would welcome the company.

Can’t imagine anything in this area being difficult to back into.
Just pick a site before they are all gone.
If you do have any problems; Blanche will be glad to help with backing in.
She has the “road guide” thing down to an art.
“Come on, come on, a little farther…. whoa! whoa! stop!... oh gee… look what you did.”
I said art not science.

Funny, sad and so true.
Please tell me 'before' I hit something, not after.
I took out the rear corner of a old mobile home with spotters on each coner...went back to look, was 4' of damage before I heard a 'Stop!'

Alan-- SOO very sorry to read of the damage to your Airstream. I am glad your family is OK. Our possessions, although important to us, can be replaced. Our lives, cannot.

Thanks all for your sympathies, only we vintage trailer types can appreciate the loss. We are somewhat excited about the prospects for a future case of aluminitus though.

Ouch, Alan - sorry to see that.
We had a hail storm 2 Sundays ago - some were golfball size and slightly larger. These spring storms this year seem to be one after another.
Happy Hunting for a new one and good luck with the insurance claim.
Mike

Thanks for the gracious help...........Thought I might get some advice on sight selection because on the map the turns into the sights I listed are pretty much right angles..............Was wondering if perhaps someone might know if there were trees, boulders, or if it is pretty much an open area.
I appreciate a joke and joviality as much as the next person........Seems making the other guy the butt of the joke is perhaps the driving spirit..............Thanks Folks...........God Bless..........Dennis

Alan, our condolences! Terrible, although fortunate that no one was hurt.
We'll assume you'll come up with a plan B before Springstream. And I guess we know who's bringing the firewood...

Brad, good one! I had to re-read that before I understood...I first assumed that Clancy Boy would bring firewood (like at the Can Opener).
I would be afraid that if Alan brought anything from that tree, it would be the size of toothpicks by the time he got done with it.
And Alan, I do hope that Plan B can be determined and accomplished.

Wow Allen. Sorry to hear about your trailer. The weather can take your trailer but your memories will always be there.

If anyone knows of a 25-27 for sale...we may downsize a bit. Insurance took photos this morning, we will see what they have to say. The roof on my house is already set to be repaired.

Well, they are until senility sets in and then Mother Nature take them, too.

I'm amazed at the glass that did not break.
Borrow something and still come.
Wonder if insurance would let you rent something until replaced?

Alan, I know you just want to cry every time you see your Sovereign or photos of it. You spent so much time on the interior alone. Scrubbing all the nicotine off of the walls and stripping the paint off the cabinetry and applying the "aluminum" wall covering and just recently having the gaucho re-upholstered (plus a lot of other things I can't remember at the moment). You just can't put a price tag on all that sweat equity. Well, the insurance company can, but it will never be what it's worth to you.
Take someone up on the offer to borrow an Airstream/Argosy for the Springstream and take your time on finding a replacement...the right one will come to you without you having to rush into the first one that comes along just to have one for this rally. Everyone will understand and we all sympathize.

I am unable to upload pictures anymore, so it was a bit of a shocker to see the "treestream here when I opened the page, opf course not as shocking as seeing the real thing. The other side has a large hole in tyhe roof and side segment, and amazingly that glass is not broken either...the window bent but did not break, and the tambour still works on the smashed cabinetry. Unreal!
If I can get to it under the 4 foot ceiling ( good thing I am somewhat height challenged) I will have to pull out the brand new Intellipower I just put in a month ago.
Yesterday we were cleaning the trailer out and I paused to look at all the things I have redone, fixed, or upgraded. Yikes.
I am sure glad I enjoyed doing it when it was in progress.
State Farm took photos yesterday, and we await some word from them. they already agreed to the house roof repairs.
Springstream is also part of my spring break week, actually it is my Spring Break! So we will see how it goes over the next three weeks or so.

Alan,
I've had State Farm for vehicles since '72 or '73 and have them covering 5 vehicles, my trailer and my house. When I had my brake/drum/tire/wheelwell disaster last October, they covered everything after the $500 deductible except the tire which I told them to forget because they all had to be replaced this April anyway. I got my estimate from the Airstream factory through plenty of pictures, took it and the repair bill for new brake drum assembly/labor into my agent. He sent it in and they sent out a guy to take pictures. I received a check not long after that.
